"Stained Glass" Votive Holders By Jenny Ryan Many times when I’m at the grocery or drug store, I can’t resist throwing a few scented votive candles in my cart. When I’m ready to burn them, it’s easy enough to sit one on a cute little vintage china saucer, but I recently decided to try and find a fancier display solution for them. I also wanted the project to be inexpensive, and the materials used to be things I already had on hand.
Beer House People that live in glass houses shouldn’t throw bricks, but apparently people that drink beer can live in glass houses. by Joe LaurFollow me on Twitter Came across a very cool story on Ecoscraps today. Turns out that in the 1960’s (remember the 1960’s? If you can, you weren’t really there), the head of Heineken Brewery, Alfred Heineken was vacationing in the Caribbean. He saw beaches littered with beer bottles (including some of his) and a lack of affordable housing. The Muppet Man Project Hey all, since Halloween is just around the corner I thought I'd share the steps I took to make my "Animal Head Mask". I have added a wee list of all the items I used to achieve this - feel free to use your creativity to adapt them to create the perfect mask for you. *Edit - Thanks for all the comments so far! When I started making this mask for our drummer's 21st birthday I never knew it would be so well received. Considering making another 3 - a bit of a tribute to "Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem".

Craft DIY Projects, Patterns, How-tos, Fashion, Recipes @ Craftzine.com - Felting, Sewing, Knitting, Crocheting, Home & More Quilling, the coiling and shaping of narrow paper strips to create a design, has been around for years — hundreds, in fact. During the Renaissance, nuns and monks would roll gold-gilded paper remnants trimmed during the bookmaking process, and use them to decorate religious objects as an alternative to costly gold filigree. Quilling later became a pastime of 18th and 19th century young ladies in England, who would decorate tea caddies and pieces of furniture with paper filigree. The practice crossed the Atlantic with colonists, who added quilling to candle sconces and trays as home decorations. Retro Disney Wedding Inspiration · Styled Photo Shoots I’m pretty sure there’s a little child in all of us who get excited when a Disney film comes on the TV. I personally can’t think of a much better lazy Saturday afternoon movie than Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid or Beauty & the Beast! Come on, admit it, you’re with me right? So you can imagine my girlish elation when this retro Disney inspired bridal shoot landed on my desk. “Whilst spending a fun filled day at Disneyland and watching all the young couples hand in hand in the place where dreams come true, the inspiration just came to me”, explained florist Jacqueline of J Morgan Flowers.
Homemade Serenity By now you're probably all familiar with my new found affinity for Meyer Lemons. I only discovered them this winter, and I've been shaking my head every time I use one, wondering why I didn't know about them before. Meyer Lemons are thought to be a cross between a true lemon and an orange. They are rounder than a true lemon, and the thin skin is so fragrant you could swear you were standing in a grove of citrus trees. They taste like a little bit of lemon heaven, juicy and bright without the tart bite that regular lemons impart. Tons of home remedy tips and tricks I’m sure we’ve all gotten the email before. You know what I’m talking about, the spam email that you actually happened to read. You know, the one with tons of random home remedy tips in it that you think,
What can you do with an old pallet? So many things! If you ever come across the opportunity to pick up a few pallets take a look at some of the ideas I have come across for recycling old pallets into furniture and other practical and decorative pieces. I would like to mention that the designs below were found at various sources on the Internet. Where possible I have mentioned the original source, but unfortunately too many do not.
