Mmmmm.....brainfood..... For those of you into social bookmarking, the best service I have found for a less traditional gender-explorative mind set would be del.icio.us, hands down. Tags like gender, transgender, feminism, and queer pull 58,473; 7,438; 44,493; and 21,378 results each (respectively). The numbers here are much higher than CiteULike, Diigo, or Furl, and the results are more accurate than Digg. I would not recommend Digg to anyone interested in queer, trans, or any gender topic, actually. Del.icio.us, despite having a name that is too involved to type out regularly (what's with all the dots?) Amazon.com: Imagining Transgender: An Ethnography of a Category: David Valentine: Books (one of my personal favorites) Tales from the Green Island - the perfect number - a fairytale (what appears to be trans fiction) Medical Therapy and Health Maintenance for Transgender Men (medical guide for health care providers)

Sisal Rope Bowl I once fell in love with a rope bowl, it was by David Stark for West Elm. Sadly that awesome rope bowl is no longer available, bring it back, bring it back I say! My latest crafty project was inspired by that bowl and I believe has something to do with my fixation on neutrals with layers of texture. I’ve had that rope bowl on my mind for many months, so I snagged a cheapo metal bowl from a craft store on clearance a few weeks ago, plus a couple of rolls of sisal rope from my local hardware store, and then got crafty with my glue gun. How to Make a Sisal Rope Bowl: Grab yerself a vessel, whatever you like. Then follow these simple steps: 1) Start with the handles, gluing the first part of rope in place. 2) Finish each handle wrapping the rope as shown, hot gluing every second wrap around. 3) Begin the outside of your bowl by securing an end of rope under the handle, then keep gluing the rope all the way around. 4) Finish your bowl off by wrapping the rope around the inside.

It's Dollar Store Week! The Pot | The Art of Doing Stuff - StumbleUpon The time has come for the final Dollar store post. *sniff* It’s one of those occasions that’s both sad and happy. Like watching a child go off to school for the first time, or eating a whole strawberry-rhubarb pie in one sitting. Mostly though, this is an exciting moment. The final Dollar store post is perhaps the most dramatic transformation ever to be recorded in history. So here we go …. deep breath … the final Dollar Store post. Clay pot Ta da! To prove that you could do this with ONLY things bought at a Dollar store I bought everything at Dollarama. So here we go … it’s simple enough to do but here are the instructions just in case you need ‘em: Remove the chain from your really ugly cat plaque. Slip a thin metal rod through chain ends. Put light and rod inside pot. this is what it will look like inside the upside down pot. This is what it will look like outside at night. And guess what?!! This one is done a little differently: Remove the chain from your still ugly cat plaque. see?

Our Clean Up Crew! Welcome back another Made by Me Monday! Remember when I made THIS? It was round 3 of the Crafters Competition. Well, since summer is over I decided that my handy dandy frame needed a REdo! That's the great thing about vinyl lettering... it picks off glass fairly easily. As sad as I was to see the summer end, I am happy that we can make another one next year with different goals to accomplish. and made a list that we have been needing around our house, a Saturday Cleaning List! I found this cute green fabric in my craft box and decided that it would be a good background for behind the glass of my new list. a little bit of hot glue does the trick! and VIOLA! I am REALLY excited for this to be dry erase, so we can use it every Saturday! and when we get tired of the background, all we have to do is pick new fabric. I love it! After all, Saturday IS a special day, it's the day we get ready for Sunday!
