MADE: TUTORIAL: the Circle Skirt - StumbleUpon
I used to think that a gathered skirt was the easiest skirt to sew. But I may have changed my tune. A circle skirt is possibly even easier! If you’ve ever made a poodle skirt before, it’s the same concept. Once you’ve created your pattern, you can whip up 4 skirts in an hour! Okay, let’s get started. What you need (for a little girl’s skirt): * about 1 yard of fabric* appx 3/4 yard of 2-inch wide elastic FABRICS to use:* Rayon* Polyester Charmuese* Simple Cotton* Thin Corduroy* Lightweight WoolMany fabrics will work for this project. ELASTIC:Wide elastic from fabric stores typically comes 2 inches or 3 inches wide; white or black in color. If you’d like to add a colorful twist to your skirt, check out our easy Tutorial for Dyeing Elastic HERE. Measure around your waist. PATTERN:This requires a bit of geometry but don’t worry, we’ll break it down for you. You need to figure out the radius so you can easily draw a circle. Then connect the dots to draw 1/4 of a circle! Now you have a donut!

Last night I suffered through watched Something Borrowed on DVD. I heard all the terrible reviews, but being the big Kate Hudson fan I am, I thought I needed to see it for myself. Unfortunately, I can’t get those two hours back, but I did spot a cute mani on Kate in one scene. It was a modern french manicure with a beige base, black tips, and a little bit of gold. Cue the lineup! Start with clean nails and a thin coat of base. Next, apply two coats of beige polish to the entire nail. After the beige polish is bone dry, apply french manicure strips to each nail. More drying time! Adding the gold line is the trickiest part. I sealed everything up with two good coats of the all-in-one base (which actually helped mask some of the imperfections). Like this: Like Loading...

How to Update a Hand Me Down Dresser - StumbleUpon
I love gift-wrap and I also love anything and everything having to do with typefaces. So it is no surprise to me that I have had my eye on this vintage typographer gift-wrap ever since Emily over at Jones Design Company posted about it as well as many other pretty papers she uses. I wanted to find a way I could use this gift-wrap where I could enjoy the pattern in my daily life instead of only wrapping gifts with it and giving it away. Before This piece of hand me down furniture looks nice in this photo, but the top and left side have cracks in them. supplies needed: My color scheme for the room: white, beige, tan, black, and purple. I painted the dresser white first. I didn’t like the drawer pulls, but it was not in my budget to buy new ones, so I had to come up with a way to make them more interesting. Since the gift-wrap has a tan background, I wanted to add a bit of it into the pulls. Adhering the Gift wrap: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. After I am thrilled with the way it came out.
Homemade Hair Treatments - At Home DIY Hair Treatments - Womans Day
Eggs, yogurt and honey are, at first glance, all components of a tasty breakfast—but they also happen to be hair treatment ingredients, and affordable, all-natural ones at that. And they're not the only ones. Did you know, for instance, that the oils in avocados more closely resemble our own skin's oils than any product in the beauty aisle does? Or that the mild acidity in lemon is an effective—and gentler—alternative to chemical-laden products? For All Hair Types "The [raw] egg is really the best of all worlds," says Janice Cox, author of Natural Beauty at Home. To Use: For normal hair, use the entire egg to condition hair; use egg whites only to treat oily hair; use egg yolks only to moisturize dry, brittle hair, Cox says. Photo by Shutterstock. For Dull Hair Styling products (as well as air pollution) can leave a film that both saps moisture and dulls shine—but dairy products like sour cream and plain yogurt can help reverse this damage. Don't worry I know it's Tuesday! But I thought I would show you my nails from yesterday, which I did to cheer up the start of the week! Yes, kind of crazy but it works! Every time I look down at my nails with little different moustaches on them it makes me smile. I took my inspiration from the above picture and have to say I think I need to put one of those moustache mugs on my Christmas List! To actually create the moustaches I have to admit it can be a bit tricky especially doing it with your other hand but I did do it with a fine tipped Sharpie pen which did help! Really hope you like these and even try them out next Monday to see if they cheer up the start of your own week!
