The 5 Most Widely Believed WWII Facts (That Are Bullshit) They say history is written by the winners, but the truth is even stranger than that. In reality history is often written by popular opinion, or wishful thinking, or crass politics. That's why so much of what we hear about an event like World War II--whether from textbooks, movies or something you overheard a smart-sounding guy say--is just plain bullshit. #5. America Won the War Single-Handedly Claimed By: Hollywood, WWII-shooters, Cold War politics and chauvinists. Sixty years of World War II movies, and a decade of WWII video games, have made one thing clear: If it wasn't for America, you'd all be speaking German right now, baby! How America fights a two-front war. Why it's Bullshit: Because it's like thinking that while many X-Men contributed in their own special way, defeating Magneto really came down to Iceman. Cool party! There are two radically different histories of WW II, the one that was actually fought, and the one where the US kicked everyone's assess. Cheerio, guv'na! #4. #3.

Angry Birds Space is a Propanganda Tool Claims Iranians Iran claims that Rovio Entertainment's wildly popular mobile game is actually a sneaky way to undermine their nation. Kabir News reported that Iran's Foundation of Computer Games issued an announcement that they filed a complaint with Rovio over one of the episodes in Angry Birds Space. The foundation claims that level 9 and level 10 of the "Fry Me to the Moon" episode were designed to inspire "anti-Iran sentiments" in its players by making Iranian symbols and icons targets in the game. Specifically, they claim that the pigs' fortress on level 9 is shaped to look like the nation of Iran and level 10 includes a building that looks like Tehran's Milad Tower. The foundation is awaiting a response from Robio for a "formal explanation" to these allegations.

BioWare Confirms Omega DLC for Mass Effect 3, New Mass Effect Game and New IP The impending retirement of the two remaining founders was not the only news BioWare had in store. They also offered a report on what the company has coming in the future… and there's quite a lot of it. First of all, the rumored Omega DLC for Mass Effect 3 has been confirmed as coming this fall. But more tantalizing was a report about an entirely new game in the franchise: "But the Mass Effect universe is vast, and Casey and our teams have plans for another full game. “Where to go next?” Also announced, albeit with little detail, was an entirely new game universe, being built from scratch, from a team led by Mass Effect executive producer Casey Hudson. In addition to Dragon Age III, it seems that BioWare has a very full plate. BioWare: From Aaryn Flynn

An Essay by Einstein -- The World As I See It "How strange is the lot of us mortals! Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he sometimes thinks he senses it. But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people -- first of all for those upon whose smiles and well-being our own happiness is wholly dependent, and then for the many, unknown to us, to whose destinies we are bound by the ties of sympathy. "I have never looked upon ease and happiness as ends in themselves -- this critical basis I call the ideal of a pigsty. "My passionate sense of social justice and social responsibility has always contrasted oddly with my pronounced lack of need for direct contact with other human beings and human communities. "My political ideal is democracy. "This topic brings me to that worst outcrop of herd life, the military system, which I abhor... "The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. Dragon Age III: Inquisition Announced By EA After reports on the BioWare forums that content for a new Dragon Age game was being tested among fans, EA has taken to the internet to announce that a sequel to BioWare's fantasy RPG series is indeed on the way. BioWare's Mark Darrah took to the official site today to announce that the game is in development, and in fact has been in the works for two years. While no story details have been divulged, Darrah did reveal that the game would have a custom engine built on Frostbite 2. He also confirmed that much of the personnel that have been with the series since the beginning are hard at work on building the sequel. Beyond that, as Darrah himself put it: "Recently, I said that we didn´t want to talk about Dragon Age III unless we had something to show. While limited in what he can reveal, the game is at least officially confirmed for everybody and now the fan speculation can begin. Dragon Age Blog: Letter from Executive Producer Mark Darrah

virtusphere Conan O'Brien Reviews Resident Evil 6 So We Don't Have To I love the point he makes about the president being zombie. I mean, at this point in the RE games, isn't most of the world zombies? His chances for re-election are probably awesome... until Leon shoots him in the face:) Btw, the best part of this video? Conan is actually getting better at playing video games doing these silly vids:) This is, like, the 6th one he's done or something. And in the past, he plays "like a dad". *sniff* It does my heart good to see a "Clueless Gamer" like Conan slowly becoming a real gamer.

LOL: The Recurring Prop Newspaper If you watch enough television shows and movies, then you might even start to notice that a bunch of the same props are used over and over again. I first noticed this with a magazine prop in various television shows including Married With Children, which featured a gum advertisement on the back cover. Someone on Reddit recently put together a compilation of photos from various television shows, commercials and movies, showing how one newspaper prop gets around and is reused, and reused again. I don’t know the story behind this prop newspaper, but I assume it was created as a royalty free prop for television shows. Somewhere along the line, the prop became a recurring gag between propmasters. Something like how sound designers reuse the Wilhem Scream in every movie.
