I started connecting wires, batteries, bulbs, buzzers and motors when I was 4 years old . Now that I am 13 years old, I now have a good amount of experience to build complicated electronic circuits. It took me hours to finish making this guide since there is no software editor in the Sibmit>Guide in the "Submit Instructable Section" I had to type every word and picture using HTML codes which I learned from school. Survival Bow Making Instructions By Jason Knight The following bow making instructions will help you construct an effective bow in a relatively short amount of time. A quickie bow is a fast-made bow for immediate use in a survival situation. The reason it is called a “quickie” bow is because it is made at the time the wood is harvested, rather than waiting a year or more for the wood to season (as is typical for regular bow construction). Survival Bow Making Instructions 1. The first step is to select the proper materials. For a quickie bow, you want to start with a relatively straight section of sapling or branch that is free of knots, side branches, and twists. 2. Stand the bow stave upright on the ground, hold the top loosely with one hand, and push outward lightly on the middle of the bow. Now find the middle point of the stave and mark out your handhold area by measuring and marking 3 inches out from the center in both directions. 3. Now it's time to go high end... this time we'll spend a whole buck. I know it's a splurge, but why the heck not? For the Dollar Survival Knife, I use reciprocating saw blades. I like to use the 'demolition grade' blades. The blade above is rated for use with 'nailed wood', meaning that it won't kill it to saw through nails... sounds good to me. I'll mention here that you have several options for removing the paint and for hardening. While I typically harden and then temper these, I will mention that they do okay with no additional hardening. So here's my blade after a trip to 2000+ degrees and a water quench (blade only)... ...and after some cleanup and tempering. The possibilities for handles, sheaths and finishes are near endless. Here's a wood and metal rated blade next to one that's been blued and roughed out. Here's another one roughed out... I don't carry on neck cord, I just slip it in a pocket. Good Luck!
Hoop Snake Hoop Snake Sightings of hoop snakes have been reported since colonial times in North America and for at least the past century in Australia. This snake grasps its tail in its mouth and rolls after its prey, thereby achieving great speed, especially when going downhill. Hoop snakes have been clocked going over 60 m.p.h. At the tip of its tail is a highly venomous stinger, making this a creature to be avoided at all costs. It is the only species of snake known to have a stinger on its tail, and this stinger is so poisonous that even if it strikes a tree, the tree will instantly wither, turn black, and die. If you should encounter a hoop snake in the wild, the best defense is to run as fast as you can and hope to find a fence to leap over. The Mongol or Kalmuk ger with straight roof poles, a heavy timber crown, often supported by two upright poles, and fitted with a wooden door. The speaker you will build (see figure 1) consists of a Styrofoam or paper cup, a coil of wire, a permanent magnet, and a signal source. The electronic signal goes through the coil and creates a varying electromagnet. figure 1 Purpose: In this laboratory, you will explore how a speaker works. Materials: 1 permanent magnet 2 feet of wire 1 pencil tape or glue 1 Styrofoam or paper cup 1 signal source (tape player) 1 plug with alligator clips for tape player Procedure: Assemble material as shown in figure 1. Leaving about 10 centimeters on the end, wrap the wire around a pencil to make a wire coil and tape or glue it to the bottom of the cup.
