cooking conversions Photo: You May Have Eaten This Photo of the Day Gizmodo What you’re looking at is not a newly discovered pink Burmese python or the material used to make lawn flamingos. It’s actually something edible (and I use the term “edible” loosely). This is actually mechanically separated meat, the main ingredient in many commercial chicken nuggets (and the companies use the term “chicken” loosely). It’s made by sending animals’ bones through a machine that scrapes off the last bits of flesh and blood and smashes them together to form a paste more nausea-inducing than the kind you ate in kindergarten. Global Food Disparity: A Photo Diary In an increasingly globalized world, it’s still sometimes shocking to see just how disparate our lives are compared with other human beings around the world. A book of photographs by Peter Menzel called "Hungry Planet: What the World Eats" ("©Peter Menzel www.menzelphoto.com. Ten Speed Press, published in 2005) makes a relevant point with great irony: at a time when hundreds of millions of people don't have enough to eat, hundreds of millions more are eating too much and are overweight or obese. In observing what six billion eat for dinner the authors note, "Today, more people are overweight than underweight." It is these cultural differences, emphasized and reinforced by the author, which exemplifies the lifestyles and dietary habits of people around the world. You can buy the book here. Easy Button Earrings Tutorial Did you know...that you can make new earrings with a button and a paperclip? True story! I've been trying to think of a way for us to make some earrings without having to buy supplies. Buying the beads and all the findings can really add up. :o( Sad. But-oh, what? That still leaves the findings. Clip the top of the paperclip off with wire cutters: Snap off the button shanks: Glue the paperclip to the back of the button. Open the loop at the bottom of your earring hook by bending it outward and hook it onto your paper clip. And...pretty new earrings! Walmart was out of gold sparkly ones (I like gold.) but here are some cute ones I found on Walmart.com(about $1-$2): And some cute ones on Etsy: This Etsy shop has infinity cute buttons, you have to see it. (click photos to see where to buy them!) Of course, you may have some on hand just waiting to use! Hope you enjoy. Have a great Sunday! Have a great Monday!! Love you, Disney

In addition to questions about our foods, we often get asked about beverages and sweeteners. In the beverage category, water and green tea have been especially popular topics, and in the sweetener category, so have honey and maple syrup. Of course, there are many nutritious foods other than those included on our list that we feel are wonderful, health-promoting foods; if there are other whole foods - such as fruits, vegetables, nuts/seeds, whole grains, etc - that you like, by all means enjoy them. Just because a food is not on our list doesn't mean we don't think it can be included in a diet geared towards the Healthiest Way of Eating as long as it is a whole, natural, nutrient-rich food. Defending a Common Home: Native/non-Native Alliances against Mining Corporations in Wisconsin » Wisconsin Resources Protection Council By Al Gedicks and Zoltan Grossman See Map: Indian reservations and mining sites on Chippewa ceded lands in Northern Wisconsin Al Gedicks is an environmental and Indigenous rights activist and scholar. Zoltán Grossman is Assistant Professor of Geography and American Indian Studies, University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Native resistance to multinational mining corporations in northern Wisconsin has been growing for over two decades. The site lies on territory sold by the Chippewa (Ojibwe) Nation to the United States in 1842, and directly on a 12-square-mile tract of land promised to the Mole Lake Sokaogon Chippewa in 1855 (Danziger 1978: 153). The Crandon/Mole Lake mine would have extracted approximately 55 million tons of sulphite ore during the thirty-year life of the project. Much had changed since Exxon had first proposed the mine. The attitudes of neighbouring non-Indian communities had also changed since the Chippewa treaty rights controversy of the late 1980s.

Baked Egg Boat recipe Breakfast is my favorite meal. I like to drink iced coffee and watch the cream climb its way down the chunky ice cubes in a dazy before the caffeine hits. I like to order bacon with whatever I’m eating. I like eating potatoes with ketchup. I like eggs over easy, and fluffy scrambled eggs. I pretty much like everything there is to like about breakfast. View all The fledgling company out of Salt Lake City, Utah, also plans to bring a six fret model to market which will be more useful for practicing scales, and there's also talk of a strummable version (the current model just has molded plastic "strings") that will put out some sound and bring the experience that bit closer to the real thing. PocketStrings will be available next month and a release price of under US$30 is being targeted. If you have a little extra room in your suitcase and are looking for a few more frets to practice on, you could check out a slightly meatier alternative like Shredneck or a full-blown travel guitar.
