Mathematics Pearltree PearlTrees is a collaborative website to store thoughts, links, videos, and notes. Teachers can easily post an idea or "pearl" on a specific topic or a post a series of topics in a unit of study on their "tree". Using PearlTrees is an excellent way to collaborate professionally with other teachers in Ohio and beyond because all “trees” are public unless you have the premium account. For every “pearl” anyone can post comments and collaborate with other professionals. People can also join together to form a team so they can contribute to a common topic.
Social Curation Service Pearltrees Revamps Web and Mobile Apps Pearltrees, the service that allows you to arrange Web content, photos and more (‘pearls’) into mindmap-style ‘trees’, has updated its Web and mobile apps today in order to bring a more seamless user experience and new features to the platform. The company said the Web platform has been fully redesigned and rebuilt in HTML5, making it more easily accessible on a range of different devices, as well as introducing new features also now found in its iOS and Android apps. It seems it’s becoming a bit of a habit for Pearltrees to significantly revamp its website at about this time each year, and this time around it’s gone all-out to make collections, and collecting, “simpler, more accessible and more shareable,” CEO and co-founder Patrice Lamothe said. As well as rebuilding it using HTML 5, there are now new features like ‘extended drag-and-drop’ which allow you to quickly add ‘pearls’ from your hard drive, the Web or a document.

While advances in search technology has made finding information easier and easier, saving and organizing information in a way that captures a story or conversation can still be very challenging. I just posted on Techmamas.com about my first experience with Pearltrees.com; I was on a Traveling Geeks trip to LeWeb and Pearltrees was one of the French companies we met. Being a visual person, the Pearltrees online application offered me the tools to capture and organize online information in a visual format that also reflected the storyline behind the issue being discussed. I decided that my next step was to use it and see what happens. What happened – is that adding content to Pearltrees became part of my daily workflow.
GitLab GitWeb is pretty simplistic though. If you’re looking for a more modern, fully featured Git server, there are some several open source solutions out there that you can install instead. As GitLab is one of the more popular ones, we’ll cover installing and using it as an example. This is a bit more complex than the GitWeb option and likely requires more maintenance, but it is a much more fully featured option.
