The most effective kind of loyalty program is one that uses the information provided by a customer's rewarded behavior to fashion more relevant, personalized, or satisfying services or offers for that particular customer, thereby earning more and more of the customer's loyalty. In this earlier post I showed how your own loyalty program's appropriateness and economics would depend largely on the characteristics of the customer base you serve. As these kinds of programs have proliferated, however, and as customers themselves have become more interconnected and knowledgeable through social media, the better loyalty programs seem to be characterized by five important best practices, which I often recommend to companies. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
cssua.js) Demo CssUserAgent Demo This page demonstrates the power of CssUserAgent. This feature applies User-Agent specific CSS classes to the <html> tag to allow browser-specific CSS variation without resorting to CSS hacks. Since these are performed once at startup, CSS may be statically defined without the need to mix browser-specific logic into the presentation. Multiple classes are created for each user-agent, allowing the web developer to target browser classes on differing levels of granularity. ua-browsername ua-browsername-major ua-browsername-major-minor ua-browsername-major-minor-build ua-browsername-major-minor-build-revision Customized presentation Notice how the sidebar color scheme and browser icon change depending upon which browser you are using. This is all done with CSS since cssua.js has prepped the HTML tag with special CSS classes which allow you to target browsers with varying degrees of precision. Olympic facts: 10 things you didn't know about the 100m sprint | Sport So how come the Olympics has a 100m race? The event was introduced into the Games in 1896 for the first modern Olympiad, which was held in Athens at the Panathenaic Stadium, constructed in marble and based on an ancient Greek stadium. The USA's Thomas Burke won the 100m in 1896 with a time of 12sec. The 100m distance is believed to be the modern equivalent of the prestigious stadion sprinting race in ancient Greece, which was about 180m. Who are the main contenders to be crowned fastest man in the world at Sunday night's 100m Olympics final? Obviously the bookies' – and the crowd's – favourite to win the most coveted prize at the Olympics is Jamaica's Usain Bolt. Why are Jamaicans so good at running very, very fast? Despite having a population of just 3 million people, Jamaica has won 14 Olympic gold medals - many of them in sprinting. Is Usain Bolt's height really a disadvantage? Bolt's height allows him to hold speed for longer and decelerate at a slower rate than a shorter sprinter. 1.
London Olympic Mascots | Wenlock & Mandeville The London Olympic Games organizing committee unveiled their new mascots Wenlock and Mandeville Wednesday. Kiddies loved them, adults scratched their heads and the interwebs went nuts. Again. In this era of internet freakouts and Twitter Storms, seems there’s not a brand related rollout that doesn’t ignite one. Especially when it comes to Olympic branding rollouts. Particularly when it comes to the 2012 London version. firestorm almost three years ago. Still stinging over the shellacking they took over the event brand price tag of 400 grand (though that wasn’t just the logo itself) organizers were hesitant to give an exact figure on the development cost of Wenlock and Mandeville by London-based design agency Iris, saying only that it was “a few thousand pounds” with large parts of the work being done “in house” and with the assistance of corporate sponsors. Olympic symbolism The design and accoutrements of the mascots aren’t arbitrary, but chock full of symbolism. Ouchie.
Top Fonts of 2010 Stereotypes is run by designer Sascha Timplan, whose output these past twelve months has been quite something. St Ryde, his successful text and display face, joins the ranks of lively yet legible typefaces with rounded terminals (think Fritz, Sauna or Haptic). Combining a sophisticated structure with playful details, St Ryde has a logic and a charisma all its own. It is a semi-serif rather than a sans; while it swings and bounces at display sizes, it looks more static and regular when used small. With multiple figure sets, small caps and open italics, it was made for serious typographic work, in spite of its unorthodox forms.
London bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics London 2012 was the successful bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympics, held in London with most events taking place in Stratford in the borough of Newham. The British Olympic Association had been working on the bid since 1997, and presented its report to government ministers in December 2000. Following three consecutive unsuccessful UK bids to host summer Olympic Games (Birmingham for 1992 and Manchester for 1996 and 2000), the decision was made to bid with London, given the clear indication that it was the only UK city that had a chance of being selected by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) when put up against other world cities in a competitive bidding process.[1] On 6 July 2005 at its 117th Session in Singapore, the IOC awarded London the right to host the Games of the XXX Olympiad. The city beat the favorite Paris 54 to 50 on the fourth and final ballot. London is the first city to host the Games three times.[2] Sporting venues[edit] Olympic Zone[edit] River Zone[edit]

The London 2012 Games included a four-year Cultural Olympiad.
Is the DJ an Artist? Is the DJ an Artist? Is a mixset a piece of art? By BRENT SILBY Def-Logic Productions New Zealand Copyright © Brent Silby 2007 www.def-logic.com/articles People often ask: is a DJ an artist? I believe that DJ'ing is a form of art. So, what does a DJ actually do? At its most basic level a DJ selects a range of musical pieces and plays them to an audience. So what does a DJ do that an ipod does not do? 1. 2. The important feature of the DJ mixset is the journey that it takes its audience on. So, how is this art? Well, it is art insofar as the mixset is a unique suite of music, which can be considered as a complete unit. But is this art or just musical taste? It is art in the same way that photography is art. Conclusion My goal in this article has been to show that a DJ is an artist, and the mixsets he produces are a form of art. A mixset is a piece of art.
