Glen Brittle Fairy Pools
Glen Brittle is actually a huge glen on the southern part of the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Numerous tributaries of the Brittle go down from all of these mountain tops to the glen, together with a stream along with falls referred to as Fairy Pools, a well-known spot to take a stroll. They’re section of a flow going off of the Cuillin mountain range, filled with clearly hued pools of virtually still water that are interspersed with hectic waterfalls. It’s far better to pay a visit to on the time following a tiny rainfall shower, on the dry day with a few clouds cover. Because of this water levels is going to be topped up although not too instant, and the clouds cover means the water’s surface area does not mirror excessive light – therefore dimming your glimpse of the spectacular hues underneath.

100,000 LED Become Fake Fireflies On Tokyo's Sumida River
Maybe it’s just us, but it feels as if bioluminescence is having a bit of a moment right now. A few months ago everyone was all a-flutter about these awesome long exposure photos of fireflies, we marveled at an interactive jellyfish installation in Vancouver and the American Natural History Museum has an exhibition on view dedicated to these creatures of light. Last weekend, at the inaugural Tokyo Hotaru festival, some 100,000 LED lights did their best firefly impersonation as they floated down the Sumida River.
Why Nikola Tesla was the greatest geek who ever lived
Additional notes from the author: If you want to learn more about Tesla, I highly recommend reading Tesla: Man Out of Time Also, this Badass of the week by Ben Thompson is what originally inspired me to write a comic about Tesla. Ben's also got a book out which is packed full of awesome. There's an old movie from the 80s on Netflix Instant Queue right now about Tesla: The Secret of Nikola Tesla. It's corny and full of bad acting, but it paints a fairly accurate depiction of his life.

Mystery as spiral blue light display hovers above Norway
By Mail Foreign Service Updated: 15:15 GMT, 10 December 2009 What's blue and white, squiggly and suddenly appears in the sky? If you know the answer, pop it on a postcard and send it to the people of Norway, where this mysterious light display baffled residents yesterday. Speculation was increasing today that the display was the result of an embarrassing failed test launch of a jinxed new Russian missile. The Bulava missile was test-fired from the Dmitry Donskoi submarine in the White Sea early on Wednesday but failed at the third stage, say newspapers in Moscow today. Strange spiral: Residents in northern Norway were left stunned after the lightshow, which almost looked computer-generated, appeared in the skies above them

A self portrait of Stanley Kubrick with his daughter, Jack Nicholson and the crew @ the set of The Shining. A selection of some of the most awesome Behind-the-scenes shots I’ve seen from some famous movies found at aintitcool.com. Back when set designs were huge and hand made, when special effects where mechanic and photographic and film stars were risking their lives on the set. on the set of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis — the actress inside the Maria robot taking a breather.
