Multi Strand Finger Loop Braiding In this Instructable, I'm going to teach you how to make Finger Loop Braids. With this technique you can make braids with just your hands that have 10 or more strands each. They can be used for anything. Bracelets, chokers, belts, hat bands, as trim on clothing, or furniture... If you need a strong lacing, a finger loop braid will multiply the strength of your string/rope by 10. Finger Loop Braids were popular from the 15th to the 17th Centuries in Europe, There are still some forms of similar braids made in isolated areas of South America, Asia and the Middle East. This is the style of braiding that was done in Medieval Europe and all the patterns are translated from Medieval manuscripts by the great folks at Fingerloop.org. Supplies: some kind of rope, string, yarn,...Tools: HandsTime: Depends on the length and pattern of the braid but the ones I'm making only take a few minutes to complete an entire braid. It is difficult to describe and annotate the patterns. Lets go.

Not surprisingly they are quite fun, smooshing the glue out to make a perfect little magnified image is very satisfying. Here, in order of appearance, are the places I referenced: paper candy instructions with pictures (this is the first place I saw this project) dogmestic with instructions and pictures photogeek pictures ugly green chair cute ladybug magnets – pictures with packaging threads at Glitter:onetwothree I bought all of these supplies at Michael’s, including the glue I went back for since I got the wrong kind to start with. I bought 1/2″ and 3/4″ round (strong) magnets (in with the frames, near the corks); 1/2″ and 3/4″ clear flat glass marbles (in the fake flowers aisle, check the mosaics section too); silicon sealer made by the Crazy Glue people (in the glue aisle). These are great packaged in those Altoid-sized tins, I’ve seen them in office/gift shops like that.

When it is planted in the ground and given lots of TLC it will bloom into beautiful flowers you can enjoy. First, you need to make the paper. Use paper you have around your house. When your paper is nice and evenly blended you can add your seeds. Now it is ready to be shaped. Place a towel on the counter and if you have a piece of felt, place the felt on top of the towel. Take another towel and press it down on the paper pulp to help dry the excess water. When your paper is dry, cut it out into a flower shape. Make sure you add a message somewhere on your card to let the recipient know they can plant it!
