45 Uses For Lemons That Will Blow Your Socks Off
Most people are familiar with the traditional uses for lemons to soothe sore throats and add some citrus flavor to our foods. However the diversity of applications for lemons far exceeds general knowledge and once you read the following list, you’ll likely want to stock at least a few lemons in your kitchen 24-7. 1. Freshen the Fridge Remove refrigerator odors with ease. Dab lemon juice on a cotton ball or sponge and leave it in the fridge for several hours. Make sure to toss out any malodorous items that might be causing the bad smell.

Household Cleaning Tips from WomansDay.com - How to Clean House
A few years ago, I found out that I’ve been cleaning all wrong. I was in a hotel room, when a maid came in and sprayed a solution on every surface…and then left. Right when I thought she’d forgotten, she returned. She wiped for less than two minutes with a thin dry cloth, and the whole place sparkled. It had, frankly, never occurred to me to let one solution do all the work, so I asked her what she’d used.

Tutorial: More Texturing- Photoshopcontest.com
By: ledirlo This tutorial demonstrates an effect that gets so photorealistic it led to some cheating controversies in the past. Aside from the interest of the created effect it also gives key layer technique information. The only material needed is these two photos, the crumpled paper and what we want printed on it. Let's start by opening the two photos and moving the grass photo above the paper's layer; you can turn the grass layer into multiply mode and transform it to get the correct placement.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York - StumbleUpon
The exhibition, organized by The Costume Institute, celebrated the late Alexander McQueen’s extraordinary contributions to fashion. From his Central Saint Martins postgraduate collection of 1992 to his final runway presentation, which took place after his death in February 2010, Mr. McQueen challenged and expanded the understanding of fashion beyond utility to a conceptual expression of culture, politics, and identity. His iconic designs constitute the work of an artist whose medium of expression was fashion. The exhibition featured approximately one hundred ensembles and seventy accessories from Mr.
50 Tools
Man is "weak in himself, and of small stature," wrote 19th-century essayist Thomas Carlyle. Yet, with tools, "the granite mountain melts into light dust before him, seas are his smooth highway, winds and fire his unwearying steeds." And this from a guy who never felt a 5800-rpm circular saw scream to life in his hand. While much has changed since Carlyle's day, one thing hasn't: We need tools to build, repair and maintain the mechanical world in which we live. With these 50 tools, you'll be ready for just about any project--whether it's melting mountains or swapping out the kitchen sink. 1.

Photoshop Effects: recreate the look of a medium format portrait
When I first got in to photography, which wasn't quite 100 years ago, there were three reasonably clear groups of camera user. The happy snappers used compacts, the enthusiasts used SLRs and the professionals used medium, or large, format. If you were a really 'serious' amateur, and every club had at least one of these Yodas, you might have got yourself a medium format system, using 6x4.5cm, 6x6cm or even 6x7cm frames of 120 roll film. If you were a professional wedding or landscape photographer you wouldn't have dreamt of using a 35mm SLR, for credibility reasons as much as for quality, and a happy snapper wouldn't have known which end of a 35mm SLR or medium format camera to look through.
Design Crush: Elizabeth Kimberly Designs & Elements of Style Blog
I spotted Elizabeth Kimberly Designs over on Caitlin Creer’s blog some time ago and just dug it out of my bookmarks this morning through my cold induced haze. This particular project is what sold me on EK’s design work, as it combines color, serene white, traditional and modern all very well and looks, so, well- perfect. What a dump, huh?
