One Day, AI Will Seem as Human as Anyone. What Then? 5 Myths of AI D-ID | The #1 Choice for AI Generated Video Creation Platform Artificial intelligence could lead to extinction, experts warn - BBC News Chris VallanceTechnology reporter Artificial intelligence could lead to the extinction of humanity, experts - including the heads of OpenAI and Google Deepmind - have warned. "Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war" it reads. But others say the fears are overblown. Sam Altman, chief executive of ChatGPT-maker OpenAI, Demis Hassabis, chief executive of Google DeepMind and Dario Amodei of Anthropic have all supported the statement. The Centre for AI Safety website suggests a number of possible disaster scenarios: Dr Geoffrey Hinton, who issued an earlier warning about risks from super-intelligent AI, has also supported the Centre for AI Safety's call. Yoshua Bengio, professor of computer science at the university of Montreal, also signed. 'Fracturing reality' Many AI tools essentially "free ride" on the "whole of human experience to date", Ms Renieris said. Superintelligence efforts 'Be reassured'

Paragraphica – Context to image (AI) camera – CreativeApplications.Net Created by Bjørn Karmann, Paragraphica is a camera that utilizes location data and AI to visualize a “photo” of a specific place and moment. The camera exists both as a physical prototype and an online camera that you can try. The viewfinder displays a real-time description of your current location, and by pressing the trigger, the camera will create a photographic representation of that description. The camera operates by collecting data from its location using open APIs. Inspired by the star-nosed mole, which lives and hunts underground, finds light useless. The first dial behaves similarly to the focal length in an optical lens but instead controls the radius (meters) of the area the camera searches for places and data. Created with Raspberry Pi 4, 15-inch touchscreen, 3D printed housing, custom electronics and using Noodl, python and Stable Diffusion API. Using AI, scientists find a drug that could combat drug-resistant infections Using an artificial intelligence algorithm, researchers at MIT and McMaster University have identified a new antibiotic that can kill a type of bacteria that is responsible for many drug-resistant infections. If developed for use in patients, the drug could help to combat Acinetobacter baumannii, a species of bacteria that is often found in hospitals and can lead to pneumonia, meningitis, and other serious infections. The microbe is also a leading cause of infections in wounded soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. “Acinetobacter can survive on hospital doorknobs and equipment for long periods of time, and it can take up antibiotic resistance genes from its environment. The researchers identified the new drug from a library of nearly 7,000 potential drug compounds using a machine-learning model that they trained to evaluate whether a chemical compound will inhibit the growth of A. baumannii. Drug discovery Those tests yielded nine antibiotics, including one that was very potent.
