hair by Megan Mikita: HOW TO: The Perfect Side Swept Bang There are a few tricks when it comes to making your bangs sweep perfectly to one side, is what I say to all my clients when they tell me "I can never style my bangs like you can". Can you all relate?!?! You are standing there in front of the mirror arguing with yourself, naturally,.. I am going to break it down for you all today... talking... bangs.. the side swept ones. If you are trying to re create this look with damp hair...you can use a round brush and blow dryer instead of a flat iron....or you can power dry and use a flat iron as well....what ever you fancy. Decide what side you want your bangs to "swoop' to... (if you have a cowlick I would start the bang from that point and make them swoop to the opposite side) Comb all forward Take horizontal sections (don't mind my roots) :) Here is the point where you can either round brush (if your hair is a bit damp still) or if you are working with worn in hair, use a flat iron. the key is to go straight down with a little bend inward at the ends. Fun Summer Hair in Minutes. Happy Friday ladies! I just love this time of year- summer is just around the corner! Naturally, as weather changes so does my hairstyle. So, this week while I was in the shower (the place where I have most of my revelations) I came up with a fast and easy hair style that can be dressed up for a weekend date-night or dressed down for a day at the beach. I also chose to wear a vintage inspired blue shirt with red tiny polk-a-dots that I thought would look great with this hair style. Let me know what you think about this hair creation! Bottle it up The best stuff in life is free. Like sunshine, blue skies and THE OCEAN…if you have access to it, that is. Which I don’t. And I know it’s only January but I’m already Jonesing for spring. So, to scratch the itch, I decided to go with beach hair. Problem was I needed sea spray to get the really beachy look and texture. So with much hesitation and skepticism I took on the task of making my own, with stuff I already had around the house. BELIEVE me when I tell you, this is BY FAR the best sea spray I have ever used, EVER. RECIPE: 1 Cup WARM water 3 Tablespoons Sea Salt 1 Tablespoon Gel or Spray Gel 1/2 Tablespoon Conditioner (or leave-in) A couple spritzes of your favorite perfume DIRECTIONS: Mix Warm water and salt first and shake well.

Head Scarf Tutorial After many requests, I finally made a tutorial on how to tie a simple head scarf. It's really, really easy. I did this without looking in the mirror, so that should tell you how easy it is. Let's get started! Start with a large, square scarf. I like my vintage silk scarves because they're soft and not bulky. Fold one corner to the other to form a triangle. Fold the corner down to about the middle, and then fold over again (but not all the way to the edge, because you want it to be a little thicker). Put the scarf around your head with the ends in the front, making sure the wrong side of the scarf (the part where you can see the folds) is against your head. Tie it in a loose knot at the front. Tuck the ends behind/underneath the scarf. Done!
