Chocolate Cupcakes with Flaming Strawberries Call me easily amused, but these little torch-topped cupcakes delight me. Besides being a cute novelty item for a party, I think they would add a little drama to the end of a romantic meal. For the cake portion, I chose a One Bowl Chocolate Cupcake recipe because 1. it's quick 2. it is easy, and 3. it fits my prerequisite for a light ending on date night. I should say, a light ending provided you don't eat too many. The cakes are just sweet enough, and have a light, fluffy crumb - the perfect vehicle for rich chocolate buttercream. Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread I’m sorry. I know it’s Monday morning and you probably came here for some pretty pictures of food that you could glance at, and then move on with your day… and here I go thrusting warm, soft cinnamon sugar bread in your face. It’s not fair. I know it’s not fair. I know that now you’re craving cinnamon rolls, and cream cheese frosting and chili fries and hot dogs. I am too… and I already ate half of this warm bread. You don’t deserve this sort of torture. This bread hits all the comfort spots in my soul. I’m sorry and you’re welcome and I love you. Let’s start at the beginning. I did this all without the use of a stand mixer and dough hook. This dough can be made and left to rise , then refrigerated overnight for use in the morning. This is the dough just before it’s left to rise. After the dough has rested and risen for an hour, I knead it in a few tablespoons of flour. This is the part in the bread process where you can wrap the dough and place it in the fridge to rest overnight.
Soy's Thyroid Dangers For at a past decade, the issue of whether soy has a negative effect on the thyroid has been a continuing question. The potential effects of soy on the thyroid remains a controversial issue, one that shows no signs of being resolved in the near future. On one side, we have health and nutrition magazines touting the benefits of soy as a cure-all for menopause, cancer prevention, heart disease, weight loss, and many other health concerns. And behind the many soy food products and supplements is a multi-billion-dollar industry that make profits hugely from soy. On the other side of the issue are the opponents of soy, who believe that soy is a toxin, and is particularly toxic to thyroid patients. In the middle, there are experts who suggest that some soy -- as long as it is in unprocessed food form, or fermented forms, and not genetically modified -- may be safe for thyroid patients, as long as it's eaten only in moderation. As a thyroid patient, how can you decide what to do? About Soy

Bile Duct » Blog Archive » This is Your Child on Drugs. So I was watching TV the other day and saw a new Partnership for a Drug-Free America commercial. Actually I don’t think they’re called that anymore. They have some new 21st century name or something. Anyway, you know who I’m talking about. The commercial featured an average looking teenage boy doing a talking-head monologue that went something like this: Hey teenager, are your parents watching this with you? OK, I don’t think he actually said “drugs are bad”, but I forget how he wraps up. Anyway, I just want to say thank God for this commercial!
