The hiragana and katakana vowels can be converted to small letters by pressing L before the letter. If you type certain words in Japanese and hit space bar, you can convert the word into a symbol or special character like Stars, arrows and music notes. There are two ways to write the sounds zu and ji in Japanese. Sometimes when you write a word in Japanese and try to convert it to kanji, it splits the words into two different words.
