Moving slabs [This Dynamic Earth, USGS]
The layer of the Earth we live on is broken into a dozen or so rigid slabs (called tectonic plates by geologists) that are moving relative to one another. "Historical perspective"
Chord Construction
Now here's what you do to make your very own chords. It is very simple once you have the scale chart (below). You take the formula chart (below) find the chord you're looking for (major, minor, minor 7, diminished, etc.). Now look at the roman numerals that are next to each chord. those are the components of the chord (They tell you which notes to use). Then you go to the major scale chart (below) and find the scale of the chord you want. For example, if you want a G Major chord go to the G scale in the scale chart.

Some Bizzare and Odd things around us…
Beauty of the nature lies in viewer’s eyes. A photograph is just a way to show or represent that beauty. Here is a bunch of some wonderful pictures which are not only the example of beautiful photography but are also a photograph of some miracles happening in the world. You can also call it the creativity and innovation of photographer’s mind. I think it was at the peak while taking these pictures.
Luthier Tools Available
Almost every luthier must make at least some of his or her own tools. The guitar making tools offered here were developed in the shop out of a need for a better solution to a particular problem encountered somewhere in the guitar making process. Unhappy with the deep scratches produced by fret files and in need of a quick way to check for high frets, the fret kit was developed after trying many different methods to solving this problem. For cutting rosette channels, a see-thru, adjustable device that would mount on a laminate trimming router seemed like an ideal solution, and the tuning machine drilling jig was an excellent way to resolve the problem of drilling the tuning machine holes without removing the headpiece template.
Why Nikola Tesla was the greatest geek who ever lived
Additional notes from the author: If you want to learn more about Tesla, I highly recommend reading Tesla: Man Out of Time Also, this Badass of the week by Ben Thompson is what originally inspired me to write a comic about Tesla. Ben's also got a book out which is packed full of awesome. There's an old movie from the 80s on Netflix Instant Queue right now about Tesla: The Secret of Nikola Tesla. It's corny and full of bad acting, but it paints a fairly accurate depiction of his life. The drunk history of Tesla is quite awesome, too.
The Major Scale : Overview : How Music Works
A scale is a collection of notes, selected from the full set of notes in an octave. The choice of notes in the scale provides the framework on which a piece of music is built. We have already been introduced to the Chromatic scale. It is very rarely used as the basis for a piece of music, because it excludes no notes, and so provides no structure. The importance of the Chromatic scale is that it defines the full set of notes in music, from which all other scales are built. There are many different types of scales, and we will look at all of them in detail later.
Awesome pictures from around the world
Someone sent me these in a chain email, it was horribly formatted. I also do not know who made the comments, or how accurate they are. I take zero credit in the pictures, I just wanted to compile them nicely for all to see.
