Forums - Illustration - How I did the vector faces. Ok, I’ve had a number of people sitemail me now asking me to tell them how I did the vector illustrations of the faces on the CD Cover in the Designer Spotlight section so I'll spill it all here in the Vector Illustration Forum . Before I start, I need to answer a couple of FAQs: No, I didn’t use some new Illustrator filter that does it for you, and; Yes, it took some time and patience (just like it would for anything you want to get right ). Firstly (and I know some of this is more design process than illustration technique, but it’s important and saves time in the long-run), I sketched out the composition first so that knew what sort of photos I needed to be looking for. I found suitable images, placed them in Illustrator, roughly masked them and arranged them where I wanted them. Once I had it sorted in my head how it was going to sit together, I started on the illustration working my way from the background objects through to the foreground objects. Ok, now for eyes. - Chris
