How To Heat Up Your Room Using Just a Candle: This heater is a multi-core steel and ceramic radiator assembly, suspended above the candle on a solid steel stand. The radiator absorbs and concentrates the thermal energy of the candle and converts it into dry radiant space heat. If you burn candles, now you can add their heat to your home or office. There is also an “electric candle” option that uses a 60 watt quartz halogen lamp; that works out to about 6 cents for 10 hours of “burn” time. “Steel has the ability to approach the temperature of its heat source,” says the inventor, “so the solid steel inner core will go as high as 550° Fahrenheit. The simple elegant design has no moving parts. What’s new for 2008 is an “electric candle” option that takes advantage of the fact that 90% of the energy that goes into an incandescent lamp is “wasted” as heat. The electric candle is pictured below: The Kandle Heeter Candle Holder is available on Doyle Doss’s website, for $29.95.

Homemade Toothpaste Recipe: Remineralizing This homemade toothpaste recipe is 100% natural, perfectly edible, and full of the minerals your teeth need to re-build enamel and maintain healthy teeth and gums. It’s a long-held belief among conventional dentistry that you can’t regrow tooth enamel or heal cavities. But studies done by holistic dental care providers prove otherwise. When combined with a diet rich in the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, and K-2 and devoid of mineral-stealing anti-nutrients, a homemade toothpaste recipe like this one can transform your dental health. Why a homemade toothpaste recipe? Much of the research on remineralizing teeth was done back in the 20s, so I understand why people give me strange looks when I say I am using holistic dental care to heal my son’s cavity. Nevertheless, it’s not just a thing of the past. Most store-bought toothpaste contains glycerin, which has actually been shown to weaken tooth enamel over the long-term. The 6 Most Badass Skills You Can Learn in Under a Week Become a Human Lie Detector Any secret agent worth his hidden cyanide pills is going to have to be prepared for intense negotiations. Whether you've captured a deadly SPECTRE double-agent working as an MI6 janitor, or are just buying a used car, you've got to be able to tell when the enemy is lying through his teeth to you, and how to best disguise the fact that you're lying through your teeth at the same time. Also you can be like that guy in Lie to Me, for the few of you who watch that show. The Coursework: This particular double-oh technique has been cleverly disguised as a business management lecture lasting only a few hours, steeped in the psychology of human information processing and body language. Liar!! Then you can watch as paranoia creeps in from the corners of your mind, slowly replacing lesser human emotions like "trust" and "compassion." In fact, there is a class just for you... Un-Colgate your Colgate This weekend I decided to Crest the hill ofgood health and chemical free living and experiment with home made toothpaste. I have tried this before and was woefully disappointed and decided that I just didn’t give a Gum any longer and went back to my Colgate Total which is less than Aqua Fresh. I have sensitive teeth you see and any other toothpaste leaves me in pain after a few weeks. Oil pulling, the activity whereby you rid your body of some of it’s most annoying toxins by swishing coconut oil and a drop of your favorite essential oils for upwards of 20 min a few days a week, seems to help with my sensitivity, so I am hopeful that is a thing of the past. Anyhoo, as I said, I have tried the coconut oil and baking soda toothpaste and just was not impressed. The first recipe involved me boiling the egg shells from ourhappy hens. Dash of Sea Salt 3-4 T Water 1/2 t Xylitol 1 T coconut oil (optional) Add the warm water to a small bowl. I tried it out. Nope, that wasn’t the elf on the shelf.

HOW TO CHEAT AT EVERYTHING Over lunch with Simon Lovell, a fascinating former card shark, Allison Schrager learns all sorts of things about how swindlers operate ... Special to MORE INTELLIGENT LIFE "I can spot someone's weakness a mile away. In any room I can pick out the best target," says Simon Lovell, reformed con artist and famed magician, when asked over lunch about the root of his talents. "Take that woman over there." "Or that man over there, over-dressed, too neat, over-confident, thinks he is too smart to be taken." "But ultimately, anyone can be conned, if you have the balls to do it." Simon Lovell should know. Presently, instead of subjecting people to cons, Mr Lovell stars in a one-man off-Broadway show, "Strange and Unusual Hobbies". "I could sell shit at an anti-scat party," he says, "you have to figure out someone's wants and needs and convince them what you have will fill their emotional void." It requires avid study of psychology and body language. Con men tend to be excellent conversationalists.
