DIY Wrap Bracelet You should all know by now that we are all about stacking bracelets on our wrists. The more, the better. In fact . . . the most, the best! With that being said, we’ll show you how to master a version of the ever so popular wrap bracelet. It’s so simple and addicting, you’ll soon be churning out these wristlets with your eyes closed. Clearly this arm party train isn’t stopping and it’s about time you get on board! You’ll need (for a double wrapped bracelet) :* Lengths will vary depending on the size of your wrist (see comments for suggestions). Fold the length of leather cording in half to form a loop. Place the ball chain along the leather cording with the end of the chain meeting the end of the wrap. Continue wrapping while checking it for fit around the wrist. When you have reached the end of the ball chain wrap the linen cording around the leather strands 2-3 more times. Thread the hex nut through the strands and tie a second knot. Trim with scissors and your wrap bracelet is finished!!
A leader cannot be an armchair strategist Leadership, someone said, is about sizing up the situation and constructing the appropriate response. In my view, this is an apt description and nowhere is it more relevant than in the field of sport. During my long and cherished career representing the state and the country at the highest level, I have been fortunate to be part of teams that have been led by some exceptional individuals; in the twilight of my career, I also had the opportunity to lead the team myself. There have been substantive lessons on leadership that I have absorbed along this journey and here are some of them. Trust The most critical aspect of leadership, especially in a sporting context, is the ability to build trust. Performing leader In a sporting context, more than anywhere else, a leader cannot be an armchair strategist. Contribution not designation The former US president John Quincy Adams said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”

Google Powered Site Search with jQuery Martin Angelov By far one of the most requested features by Tutorialzine’s readers, is building a site-wide search. One way to do it, is to build it yourself from the ground up. That is, to use a server-side language like PHP and run search queries on your database, displaying the results to the user. Another way is to use the services of the one search engine that already knows everything about everyone. Important update (October 2014): Google has canceled the API that this search engine uses, so this script will no longer work. The HTML Lets start with the HTML markup. search.html <! In the body section, we have the main container element – the #page div. Inside the form is the text input box, after which comes the radio group for searching on the current site / the web, and the four search type icons, organized as an unordered list. How To Create a Gothic Blackletter Typographic Design Blackletter or gothic script fonts are hugely popular in a range of modern cultures. Metal bands, tattoo artwork and extreme sports brands all make use of the awesome blackletter style. Often the sharp letter shapes are enhanced with elaborate swirls and decorations. Follow this step by step guide to customizing your own gothic typographic design, we’ll be modifying the original vector letters in Illustrator before moving over to Photoshop to add a cool distressed and metal effect finish to the artwork. The design I’ve been working on features the word ‘Cobra’ – Simply because it sounds pretty bad-ass! The blackletter type has been customised and modified with additional swirls, curls and various pointy bits which add plenty of visual interest while disguising the original wording. View full size artwork The first stage of the design process will be in Illustrator, here we’ll create and tweak the gothic script lettering. Elsewhere a new brush was created. The idea is to have an element in the page (here it is in the last paragraph) that triggers the box to appear. Ok, let’s start! The Markup First, we need a paragraph somewhere in the page with the id “last”: Then, we need the following html for the box: The link element with the class “close” will give the user the option to close the box and it will not appear again. The CSS Ok, let’s give some style to the box in a NYTimes manner: We give the box a fixed position, so that it follows the user while he is scrolling. The JavaScript Enjoy!
