Water Reflections, How to Draw Page 15 / 25 StumbleUponBloggerWordPress REFLECTIONS in water. — Perspective of colour has not been considered in this book. Moreover, it is impossible here to make an exhaustive study of those amazing effects in reflection caused by movement in water. All this has been searchingly inquired into and lucidly explained in that beautiful book, " Light and Water," by Sir Montague Pollock. That work should be read to supplement the bald facts that every painter must know. Reflections in smooth water. — Theory. But the reflection of the object does not as shown in Fig. 279, but at X (Fig. 280). really appear to be at Z, as shown in Fig. 279, but at X (Fig. 280). Life is not read-only The hand - StumbleUpon The hands are a notorious source of frustration. This section won't concentrate on the muscle structure, since the hand is very complex in this regard, and knowing this won't help much in drawing them. Instead, we'll look at proportions, range of motion, and possible simplifications. Structure and proportions Figure 2.20. Bone structure and proportions of the hand There is a very easy and surprisingly accurate way to remember the proportions of an adult's hand. The palm of the hand houses the metacarpal bones. The palm of the hand can be simplified to a box. Figure 2.21. Notice that the box does not line up with the contour of the fingers. The two black arrows in the previous figure show how the little finger can move up and down. Figure 2.22. Take a look at some examples of how to use this model: Figure 2.23. The first one is a relaxed pose. This is certainly not the only way to draw a hand.

Quotations: Writers on Writing | Writer's Remorse I absolutely love it when writers write (or talk about) writing. Depending on what stage a writer is in the writing process, the writer’s quotes range from the devoted, to the confused, to the alcohol-dependent, and to the ultimately creative. In this short list of some of my favorite writer’s quotations about writing, I tried to leave out the mundane quotes and instead tried to include some of the more flavorful quotations about writing and the writing process. In most cases, the quotes seem to accurately represent the writers themselves. Stephen King: I am the literary equivalent of a Big Mac and fries.Ernest Hemingway: Write drunk, edit sober. Hunter S. Elmore Leonard: I try to leave out the parts that people skip. Isaac Asimov: If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood. Moliere: A writer is congenitally unable to tell the truth and that is why we call what he writes fiction. William Faulkner: Writing is like prostitution. William S.

Demand Studios: How I Landed the Job I applied for the job at Demand just before I was laid off as a full-time Technical Writer. I had done some freelancing here and there on the side for extra money and I had applied at a number of the “content mills” on the Internet. I really didn’t think that Demand Studios would be much different. So, I took a nonchalant approach to putting together my application. I really didn’t know anything about Demand Media, and I wasn’t concerned either way with getting the job. Part of the reason that I had procrastinated so on getting started was the extensive guidelines set forth by Demand. Needless to say, I was rather nervous when I submitted my first article. It’s important to note that if you can write coherently, show that you have some professional writing experience, and submit a couple decent articles, becoming a Demand Studios writer should be no big deal for you. Photorealistic Pictures Drawn With a BIC Pen EmailEmail At first sight they may look like some pretty sharp blue photographs, however all those pictures are actually hand drawn with a simple Bic ballpoint pen! Spanish artist Juan Francisco Casas uses up to four 14p ballpoint pens to create his incredibly photorealistic drawings, measuring up to 10ft (3 meters) high. The use of penballs makes Juan’s drawings even more original, which certainly has played a big role in his way to success, and his works are already a sell-out at exhibitions. His source of inspiration comes from his own photographs of nights out with his friends, so you can only imagine how wild his parties are, as half of his drawings include girls that forgot to put on their clothes.
