In Mackey’s art, they take an insidious turn toward resembling Renée French subjects or that creepy baby in David Lynch’s Eraserhead.Mackey was taking requests. Unfortunately for you late-comers, his commissions, taken through his deviantART account, seem to be closed for the time being. He still has his finished pieces posted in his gallery there, however. He’s made a Gastly, Bulbasaur and Charmander, as well as SpongeBob SquarePants’ pal Patrick Star and Yoda. Adonna Khare and her Pencil Fascinating video tracks a real Chinese hacker in action The American cyber security firm Mandiant, which worked with the New York Times to expose and counter a China-based hacking campaign, has released an extensive report that it says ties years of cyber attacks on U.S. corporations back to the Chinese military. Mandiant says it can even narrow down the hackers to a specific military unit in the Chinese army, Unit 61398, and a specific location in Shanghai. As part of its report, Mandiant released a video that purports to show one of the Chinese hackers in the act of attacking real, unsuspecting "English language" targets. The video, embedded above, moves quickly and is highly technical. One of the simpler tools is something called "spearfishing" – sending people e-mails with innocent-sounding attachments that, once downloaded, send private information back to the hacker. The hacker also uses some specialized software such as HTran, which was first tied to China-based hackers in 2011. HTran is a connection bouncer, a kind of proxy server.
HandTut By Ron Lemen The hands, along with the face should recieve careful attention. for one thing, aside from the head, they are usually the only other exposed part of the body. Secondly, they are equally as expressive in gesture, emotion and action. Because of the complexity of joints, masses and planes, along with their expressive nature, the hands can, and usually are, the hardest thing to learn on the entire human form. The first thing that most artists in training do wrong is they make the hands too small. Here is where the importance of head drawing comes in. I hope the importance of figure drawing is really starting to sink in now. Back to the point- Composing the hand The hand has two masses, that of the thumb part, and that of the hand proper, or, the rest of the hand. The center of the body of the hand is slightly below the body of the arm. The thumb side of the hand is larger than the side of the little finger. 1. 2. 3. 4. 6 | Could You Solutionize That For Me? When Clients' Dumbest Requests Become Art Ah, the relationship between creative professional and client. A give and take ballet as old as commerce. Caricatures abound on both sides. On one side you’ve got the "suit"--the sausage-fingered, short-sighted philistine whose imagination is as limited as his power to make meaningful decisions on the direction of a project. On the other side you’ve got the "creative"--the self-involved, petulant hipster who just wants to satisfy her ego and pad her portfolio, business results be damned. Irish creative team Mark Shanley and Paddy Treacy recently orchestrated a lemonade-making sort of project that turns clients’ less informed requests into art. According to Treacy, all the comments you see are real. And, not for nothing, Treacy also acknowledges that clients are hardly alone in being occasionally intolerable.
