Epigraphy Guide 99
Introduction to Greek and Latin epigraphy: an absolute beginners' guide Contents: Where to start? * Where to start? The prospect of finding information about a specific epigraphical topic may be daunting at first, but there are many handbooks and introductions to help you on your way. The Organization of the field From the Middle Ages onwards Greek and Latin inscriptions have been published in the accounts of travellers, who were often interested not only in inscriptions and other antiquities, but also in geography and local customs. Many museums and private collections have inscriptions in their collections of antiquities. For other museums see: Guide de l'épigraphiste,p. 128-130. Many inscriptions are now found in the context of archaeological excavations. Many inscriptions are now being published individually, or in small groups, in periodicals, sometimes in the standard classical journals (JHS, JRS, BCH for instance), sometimes in periodicals that specialise in epigraphy. • M.H.

I was commissioned by Puma Social South-East Asia to create 4 illustrations for 4 cities: The 4 illustrations will be limited posters, given in Puma Shops. Every one is based on the same layout, including a city monogram and the main buildings. Here’s a small preview of the steps:

How to Make HUGE Bubbles
For best viewing click the gear in the bottom right corner of the video and change the quality to 720p! I had more fun making this video than any I can remember in the recent past. Making giant bubbles may turn into an ongoing hobby. Some of my younger cousins have certainly enjoyed it as well! The bubbles seen in this video all used the three part bubble mix that I show being made. 24 oz Dishwashing Liquid 1 tbsp J-Lube (The most important part for giant bubbles) 3 US gal Water After filming all the shots used in this video I started experimenting with baking powder and found that 3 tbsp added to the above mix improves the longevity and durability of the bubbles significantly. Here is a source for J-Lube as promised (one bottle makes hundreds of gallons of bubble mix): For those outside of the USA it may be difficult to find J-Lube. If you enjoyed this project please share it with your friends, it would really help me out!

Subbable: Subscription crowdfunding for rabid YouTube fans
By Carmel DeAmicis On September 30, 2013 Two brothers — Hank and John Green — have produced online videos since 2007. Known as the VlogBrothers, they gained notoriety for their work on early Web shows such as “Brotherhood 2.0″ and “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.” In their current series “Crash Course,” the duo teach high school courses for free in a frenetic, fun, and fast-paced manner. But all is not well in the VlogBrothers’ world — the Google money is running out, and they’re not sure how to keep funding the show. Then, Hank Green had an idea. That didn’t stop the entrepreneurially minded VlogBrothers — they just decided to start their own crowd-funding site. Enter, Subbable. “The content for Subbable will be stuff people are addicted to and can’t live without,” Green says. Subbable is still in beta and hasn’t gained the attention of the masses yet. Subbable is like an everlasting Kickstarter for people who want to fund content they love continuously. [Image via New Media Rockstars]

perennial nature and ephemeral art : Imagine an ephemeral work, paradoxically perennial, since it can be forever refreshed in real time. In latin, "perenne" is used to describe an ever-flowing spring. "Immaturity and childishness are the most efficient categories to define modern man", wrote Gombrowicz. Nobody knows what will be "real" for mankind after the wars which are beginning now . Werner Heisenberg in Paul Virilio : The Informatic Bomb The culmination of this project is a multimedia performance The 52-minute-long set is built around nine musical compositions. The image is to be invented. News as brought to us by television. "Is it war which is virtual, or the image of war?" It is also the combination of historical and everyday events of these countries , nations which it is up to us to build together (quotation of Mr de Villepin at the UN) .
