Maria Rubinke
Danish-born Maria Rubinke‘s small porcelain figures are reminiscent of the illogical compositions of surrealism, transforming the character of what are traditionally charming and passive objects into expressions of more taboo feelings that oscillate between desire and sadism.
Human Sculptures Made from Recycled Metal | Art
Sponsored Links Julie Tremblay is a talented Canadian-born artist who has over 10 years of experience in making sculptures mostly using non-traditional materials such as wax, chicken wire, dirt, salt etc…. Featured below is a series of metallic sculptures which she has made from sheets of recycled tin plated steel – the ones that have been used to make bottle caps. Each sculpture is a self-supporting structure, and their construction process involves no welding, instead Julie makes use of a process called “Cold Assembly”, where layers of metal materials are connected to each other solely by twisting the little end pieces around each other. “Making one piece normally takes me about 2 weeks” says Julie. If you are interested in purchasing one these pieces, please contact one of the galleries listed under this link. Artist - Julie Tremblay www.julietremblay.net (Thank You!)
Yoan Capote :: Sitio Oficial | Official Site - artworks - Sculpture & Installations - Open mind
The image of a Brain was carved in a volume of PVC, creating a design of maze. The sculpture functions like a model for a public art project. The idea is to create an architectural space opened to the access of any class of spectator from any kind of background (political, race, religion, culture, etc).Open Mind, is a project to build an underground park made with walls that construct a labyrinth similar to the human brain and stimulate meditation while you walk through. There will be grass around the underground labyrinth and on top of the walls. The project is ideal for an urban space, where the surrounding buildings allow one to view the people from above and look at them walking inside like neurons moving and carrying information. Inside the installation, will be minimal furniture.
