Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies Alright, confession time. My first impression of these cookies was not a super positive one. I mean, don’t get me wrong…I love a good chocolate chip cookie. And Oreos easily top the list among my favorite “store bought” cookies. The idea of combining them just threw me. When I first saw this Oreo creation on Picky Palate I thought they looked a little gross (sorry Jenny). Seven soups every Saturday: quinoa soup recipes - Soup Chick Honestly, I don't know who we have to thank for quinoa's culinary ascent -- chefs, Whole Foods, gluten-free bloggers, or all of the above -- but I'm firmly in the quinoa camp now. Grown primarily for its edible seed, quinoa is not really a grain; it's a green, from the same family of leafy greens (goosefoot) as spinach and Swiss chard. The quinoa seed, which is the part we eat, has a mild, somewhat nutty taste and texture, more substantial than couscous; when cooked, it acts like rice and tastes like barley, and that makes it perfect for soup. Seven quinoa soup recipes caught my eye this week:

12 Cheap Gourmet Foods in Japan Japanese people are passionate about food. It's not just fine Japanese cuisine that gets people excited. In Japan, inexpensive food also gets respect. B-Class Gourmet is a Japanese term for connoisseurs of quality (but inexpensive) food. They're the people who are willing to stand in long lines or travel far and wide for a perfect bowl of noodles. These are the foods they're most often obsessed with. Culinary Arts College & 100 Famous Restaurant Recipes You Can Replicate... - StumbleUpon Eating out is becoming a more and more popular phenomenon. With fast food taking only minutes out of a day and costing a few dollars, it can be convenient. Likewise, fine dining is also on the rise and can put a considerably larger dent in your wallet. But unless you were a master chef with a keen sense of taste, these recipes were lost to you.

Chocolate Cupcakes with Flaming Strawberries Call me easily amused, but these little torch-topped cupcakes delight me. Besides being a cute novelty item for a party, I think they would add a little drama to the end of a romantic meal. I've been looking for something different to serve for Valentine's dessert, and this is definitely different. The strawberries are hollowed out and filled with a bit of liquor, then ignited with a match. For the cake portion, I chose a One Bowl Chocolate Cupcake recipe because 1. it's quick 2. it is easy, and 3. it fits my prerequisite for a light ending on date night.

Pad Something-or-other (Thai rice noodles) Everyone in this family loves Thai food.
