The smoky eye is sultry. It’s alluring. It’s enigmatic. Okay – I’m being a bit dramatic. *Use the red highlights to show you where to apply makeup. Step 1 – Prep Apply eye cream. Step 2 – Conceal Use your finger or a synthetic concealer brush to apply concealer around the eye. Blend in a gentle patting motion. Step 3 – Create barrier Pat a generous amount of loose translucent powder under the eyes. 5 Natural Ways to Remove Blackheads You know how, if your pants fall down just a little tiny bit when you’re leaning over and a millimeter of your crack shows? A MILLIMETER? Everyone can see that. Everyone sees it. Even the men in the space station. Blackheads are not like that. Still, they’re annoying. Let’s make that happen. Blackheads are just pimples that don’t have skin over them. All you have to do is clean out your pores, and the blackheads are gone. If you’re prone to blackheads, I have some good and bad news for you. The good news is, people with oily skin and large pores don’t wrinkle as quickly (because our skin is VERY good at replenishing the oils). 1. There are so many things you can use to exfoliate and remove blackheads with. Right now. My favorite is: Especially for oily skin and getting rid of blackheads. You could also use: Baking soda and water, lemon juice and sugar, or salt and sour cream. How you do it: Simply combine your “scrubby” ingredient with your liquid/wet ingredient until you have a thin paste.

10 of the Best Drug Store Beauty Buys I have an apology to make: I used to be one of those girls behind the makeup counter of a big, fancy department store selling you over-priced beauty products. While I won’t say which brand I worked for, I can tell you that my uniform consisted of all black and way too much makeup. Hey, it was the 90’s, after all. Well, I’m here to make amends. The beauty industry is full of people pushing products that they don’t stand behind 100%. Also, celebrities rarely endorse products because, like the rest of us, they aren’t always picture perfect and no cosmetic company wants to be represented by someone who actually looks like the rest of us common folk. So, to make up for the error in my ways, I am sharing ten of my all-time favorite drug store beauty buys with you. (Part 2 of this series can be seen here: 10 More of the Best Drug Store Beauty Buys) L’Oréal Volumnious Mascara in Carbon Black I have been using this mascara for over 15 years now. How to Grow Your Hair - hiphopsideproject When I was little, maybe 5 years old, my mum took me to the hair dressers and told them to give me what can only be described as a boy haircut. I’ve been scarred ever since. So I’ve been trying to grow my hair long for years now, I usually wuss out and end up getting a big chunk chopped off (never to the extent of the boy haircut that was surreptitiously thrust upon me!). Over the past 6 or so months I think I’ve added about 5-6inches of hair, and that’s with a few trims in between. Use a good shampoo/conditioner to keep your hair in tip-top condition. How you wash your hair is also important. Use shampoo on the roots only and give yourself a root massage as you apply it to stimulate hair follicles, washing it out through the rest of your hair will clean that part without drying the ends. Try and use less hair products so that you don’t need to wash your hair as often. Using a wide-tooth comb when your hair is wet or damp is essential, your hair is ridiculously brittle when it’s wet!

Golden bronze and deep brown smokey eye tutorial I’m just going to put this out there–bronze colors are just fabulous. They look fabulous on everyone, they look fabulous in every season, they look fabulous paired with most colors and they are pretty fool-proof in application. I kept today’s look really warm by pairing a bronzey gold shadow with a very warm brown and then applied some black in the crease to add some depth. If you are in a hurry or want to keep it on the light side, skip the black and just keep it to bronze and brown….
