The Time Around Scars - Poem by Michael Ondaatje A girl whom I've not spoken toor shared coffee with for several yearswrites of an old scar.On her wrist it sleeps, smooth and white, the size of a leech.I gave it to her brandishing a new Italian penknife.Look, I said turning, and blood spat onto her shirt. My wife has scars like spread raindrops on knees and ankles, she talks of broken greenhouse panesand yet, apart from imagining red feet,(a nymph out of Chagall)I bring little to that scene. We remember the time around scars, they freeze irrelevant emotionsand divide us from present friends.I remember this girl's face, the widening rise of surprise. And would she moving with lover or husbandconceal or flaunt it,or keep it at her wrista mysterious watch. And this scar I then rememberis a medallion of no emotion. I would meet you nowand I would wish this scarto have been given withall the love that never occurred between us.

The 12 Ties that Bind Long-Term Relationships That crazy thing we call love is perhaps one of the most studied and least understood areas in psychology. One reason is that many studies of romantic relationships are carried out not in real life, but in the lab. Making matters worse, many of these studies involve dating relationships between samples of convenience, consisting of undergraduate students. Though these students are certainly capable of close relationships, many of them haven’t matured enough to know themselves, much less what they want out of a romantic partner. What better way to find out about love than to survey the experts? Not the psychology experts—the expert members of couples who have been married 10 years or longer. Just as clearly, not everyone felt the same degree of intensity about their spouses. A few caveats about the study might have already come to your mind. Now that you’ve learned the basics of this fascinating study, it’s time to put your relationship to the test.

Please Don't Promise Me Forever Imagine this: It’s 1976 and you’re dating a man named Rick. He has a mustache and owns at least one reindeer sweater. High off of reading The Easter Parade and The Great Santini, he’s all pumped up to write the next great American novel but, to make ends meet, he’s currently working for Hallmark. He’s been really cagey about his latest project, only revealing that this will be the first time Hermann Zapf‘s Crown font is used in a publication. The fact is, things could be better between the two of you; he forgot your birthday… then your anniversary. Then there was that time he bit your head off on the car ride home for making fun of him during a game of Monopoly at a friend’s house. Now, imagine it’s Valentine’s Day and you’re not expecting much – but Rick surprises you. And this: “Please don’t expect me to always be good and kind and loving. And there’s even a photo depicting couples board game night paired with this text: “Please don’t… make me look foolish in front of other people.”

Herbal Vinegar Cleaner This is the month where spring officially arrives! Whether you live in a warm climate that has been experiencing spring for weeks or you are still incased with snow, as a lover of plants I know most of us are brimming with excitement for the upcoming growing season. When I think of spring I think of hyacinths, violets, red-winged blackbirds, apple blossoms and cleaning. Yes cleaning. I know that cleaning doesn’t hold the same excitement as pink hyacinth flowers, but the ritual of spring cleaning may be as old as spring itself. In our efforts to bring freshness into our homes it would be silly to attempt to accomplish this while using harsh chemical cleaning agents. Even “natural” cleaners you buy at the grocery store can include not-so-natural chemicals as well as cost a pretty penny. In this HerbMentor newsletter we are going to make a 100% natural herbal cleaner that is super effective at cleaning counters, stove tops and bathroom appliances. Vinegar Thyme Lavender Voila! Enjoy! ~Rosalee

Saudade Saudade (European Portuguese: [sɐwˈðaðɨ], Brazilian Portuguese: [sawˈdadi] or [sawˈdadʒi], Galician: [sawˈðaðe]; plural saudades)[1] is a Portuguese and Galician word that has no direct translation in English. It describes a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. Moreover, it often carries a repressed knowledge that the object of longing may never return.[2] A stronger form of saudade may be felt towards people and things whose whereabouts are unknown, such as a lost lover, or a family member who has gone missing. Saudade was once described as "the love that remains" after someone is gone. In Portuguese, "Tenho saudades tuas" (European Portuguese) or "Tenho saudades de você" (Brazilian Portuguese), translates as "I have saudade of you" meaning "I miss you", but carries a much stronger tone. In Brazil, the day of Saudade is officially celebrated on 30 January.[3][4] History[edit] Origins[edit] Definition[edit]

GoSuperSisters.com — Making Fitness Fun TEN UNTRANSLATABLE WORDS - spicyshimmy - Mass Effect FORELSKET The euphoria you experience when you’re first falling in love. Like getting tag-teamed by a one-two shot—cryo round first, incendiary second—that was walking into the same room as Commander Shepard. The experience blew cold and then hot, but after Rahna… Kaidan was used to it, as much as anybody could be. It always moved on to something else, because it wasn’t enough just to change your body temperature, it needed to pierce the skin, too. Hammerhead rounds, so you had to brace yourself for high impact; proton rounds, taking down your defenses. Shredder rounds and tungsten rounds and, finally, polonium, getting into the bloodstream, from the bloodstream to the heart. Only Shepard out of armor, leather jacket and a scar on his forehead, a face you’d expect with eyes and a mouth that you wouldn’t—that was the part that made it so good. ‘I should go,’ he said, after every conversation. At the end of a long day, Kaidan bunked down and put his bare elbows on his thighs. Two years.
