EU- Competition - Telecommunications European citizens and businesses rely more and more on convenient, reliable and high quality telecoms networks and services. Today there are more than 250 million daily internet users in Europe, and virtually every European owns a mobile phone. The competition rules work side by side with regulation specific to the telecoms sector to bring innovative, affordable services to European consumers. Digital Agenda The Commission's Flagship Initiative on a Digital Agenda for Europe, launched in August 2010, sets out the Commission's priorities in the field of the digital economy and highlights the creation of a single market for content and telecom services as a vital tool to regain progress lost during the economic crisis. In particular, the Commission aims to bring to near zero the difference between roaming and national tariffs by 2015. Europe's Information Society Newsroom Reports and studies :: 25 July 2011 The Directorate General Information Society and Media (DG INFSO) procures each year several studies aimed at different purposes, such as data collection, impact assessment, policy conception, monitoring regulations, foresight and policy conception. The Final Reports of studies are published by the responsble Units in the thematic website of the relevant theme within the Information Society Portal. The Directories of INFSO Studies provides a complete view of studies procured since 2007 by DG INFSO and indicates the URL where the Final Report is available within the relevant thematic website. The four Directories correspond to the main general Activity/Budget Areas of DG INFSO until 2010, namely: 7th Framework Programme for Research (FP7) , Competitiveness and innovation programme (CIP), Electronic Communications & Network Security and Audiovisual.
