Cobblestone Square Hi All, I have a new design to share with you... Before I get to the new pattern I want to apologise for the lack of posts lately; my last post was 6 weeks ago! I'm afraid I've been a bit disenchanted with the whole blogging and designing experience... Only I kept seeing it pinned on pinterest, and when I saw a couple of pins with the comment "pattern only in german, but with good pictures" I'm afraid my anger bubbled to the surface and I looked at the blog post again and with the help of google translate deciphered the post to find out if she mentioned the original source at all. A couple of days later after not hearing anything from her I checked her blog again and found that she had removed my comment and, again at the bottom of the page after her sign off, she had replaced "Translation in English here" with - This is the original, on this page I found this flower. Something at least I guess... but I still feel that the original creditation should be within the body of her post. Karen xx
Crochet Valentine Hearts Photo Tutorial I am a woman of my word. I promised a step-by-step photo tutorial for these little heart cuties, and I am here. to. DELIVER! (Hey look, I did that blogger thing where I made a nice pinnable image for you!) These itty bitties are so leetle and so sweet and so quick and simple. Second things second: although this isn’t a difficult crochet pattern, you’ll of course have an easier time if you are already familiar with crochet basics. Aren’t they darling? You can use any old scrap yarn you have lying around, and any size hook that is appropriate for your yarn (if you’re using worsted weight yarn, anywhere from an F through a K should work nicely). You’ll need to start with a magic circle. Make your magic circle and chain 3. Now you’re going to work 3 treble (or triple) crochets into the circle. Then insert your hook into the circle and pull up a loop, then yarn over again: You’ll now have 4 loops (plus the yarn over) on your hook (as pictured above). There’s your first treble crochet!
Simple Sunburst Crochet Heart Tutorial Hello Lovelies, we are enjoying a quiet half term week here , I've been busy spring cleaning and reorganizing. But I've also taken the opportunity to write out another tutorial for you . My original Sunburst Granny Heart , which I posted last spring has turned out to be one of my most popular patterns. That's quite a complicated design though, with many different stitches . In this version my aim was to simplify things and also to create a solid version, suitable for stuffing......... What do you think ? Here goes with the tutorial...lots of pictures and tips as usual ......enjoy :0) I'm again using U.S. terms and you start by making a modified sunburst granny circle. Hello again, here goes with round 4....starting to develop the heart shape. In the next stitch make 1 hdc......... 1 dc in each of the next 2 stitches........ In the next stitch make 2 dc.......... followed by 1 dc in the next stitch and 2 dc in the following stitch......... Then it's time to make the second "bump".
Teeny petits cœurs This is my pattern for making Teeny Tiny Hearts which are rather on the cute side and super easy and quick to do. The pattern is written in UK terms, the stitches as follows :: sl st :: insert hook, yarn over, pull the loop back through the stitch, then through the loop on your hook. dc (double crochet) :: insert hook, yarn over, pull the loop back through the stitch (two loops on hook), yarn over and pull through both loops on hook. htr (half treble) :: yarn over, insert hook, yarn over, pull the loop back through the stitch (three loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all three loops on hook. tr (treble) :: yarn over , insert hook, yarn over, pull the loop back through the stitch (three loops on hook), yarn over and pull through two loops on hook (two loops left on hook), yarn over and pull through remaining two loops. For US peeps: UK dc = US sc UK htr = US hdc UK tr = US dc To begin :: chain 4, join with a slip stitch to form a ring. Chain 2 (counts as 1 dc) (picture above)...
It’s a Girl, Sunburst Granny Square Blankie : Deuce Cities Henhouse by Scoops on February 16, 2009 Colez is having a baby in July, and I decide that I should probably make her baby a baby blankie. I am kind of a baby blanket fanatic, I myself still have my own baby blanket after 27 years (I think it’s impressive). As a kid I was very particular about my “GeeGee” and I never let it drag on the ground or get dirty. My mom would wash it for me a “special” way, I had very high standards. I was originally inspired to try and crochet the Granny Square style blanket from a post that I had seen on Apartment Therapy’s Ohdeedoh site. I found the pattern via an expert crocheter’s flickr page. The first ten squares! I couldn’t figure out how big to make a baby blanket. I didn’t make any of the squares the same, but I did make different versions with the same colors. A close-up. Shit Yeah, it’s almost done. Related posts:
Heart Bunting Super cute heart bunting, just what every home needs! I searched around the internet for a heart shape I liked, round and perfect and hearty enough. Alas I couldnt find one… so I made one up instead. These hearts are made with 8ply cotton and a 4mm hook. 1. 2. Double crochet once into each of the next three stitches, 5 double crochets into the next stitch. So this round goes: 5dc into first stitch, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc-1tr-1dc into next stitch, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 5dc into next stitch, ss into last stitch, when you are done it should look like this: Join your next colour into the ss and chain 1. Repeat as many times as you desire… Cute aren’t they?? If your hearts don’t sit as flat as you would like give them a gentle iron on the reverse side (use a hanky or tea towel between your heart and the iron) To make the bunting; chain 20 attach chain to your first heart using a ss, chain 6 attach with ss to the other side of your heart. Hang and enjoy… Hope you are having a great week! Like this:

Crochet Star Making - A Tutorial. Hello. I have been making crochet stars this week. For no good reason really, just because they're fun to make. So I thought some of you might like to have a bit of crafty fun too. These stars use up tiny amounts of wool, so get your scraps box out! I used a mixture of hot colours.... .....and a nice mix of cool colours. You need to make 10 star 'points' or diamonds ( 5for the front and 5 for the back). You can make your stars bigger or smaller by varying the number of rows or by changing the yarn weight and hook size you use. (leave a long tail at the beginning so you can use it to sew up later) Ch 2 row 1: 2sc into 2nd ch from hook, turn. row 2: Ch1(turning chain) 1sc into first st, 2sc into 2nd st, turn. row 3: Ch1, 1sc into 1st st, 1sc into 2nd st, 2sc into last st, turn. row 4: Ch1, 1sc into 1st st, 1sc into each st across until last st, 2sc into last st, turn. Start decreasing. The decrease pattern is as follows: Ch1, sk1st st, sc into next st and each st across, turn. (see photo above).

Little Spring Mandala Pattern: Made in K-Town by Barbara Please respect my rights as designer: do not sell, share, translate, or publish any parts of my patterns (including pictures) online or elsewhere without my permission. Do not claim this pattern as your own. Feel free to sell the finished items you’ve made from my pattern! If you do, a link-back to my blog www.made-in-k-town.blogspot.de would be great. Thank you! Material: As usual, I used small amounts of Catania by Schachenmayer and a 2.5mm hook. Some general notes: For this pattern I use US crochet terms. I did NOT write down the chains at the beginning of each round: for the first stitch in every round, work chains (e.g. 3 chains for the first dc) OR start with a “standing stitch” i.e. join the new color with a slip knot or a simple loop ON YOUR HOOK and just work the first sc or dc as usual. I hope I haven't lost you already :) Here we go: 1st Round: start with a magic ring and work (1dc, ch1) 12x inside the ring, fasten off (12 ch1-spaces)
