How to Create a Wine Cork Letter
We just added my favorite font, American Typewriter, to our font options so I was excited to create a project with it. Since our wine cork K is one our most popular photos I thought the two would make a great pair. I’ve seen several renditions of this project floating around Pinterest and decided I like the ones that have mainly the purple end of the cork facing forward. Don’t be shy about the size of the letter, go big! Smaller letters end up being overwhelmed by the corks, plus bigger letters leave more room to fit the corks naturally. And please, whatever you do, don’t cut the corks to make them fit.
Teeny Tiny Zipper Pouches for Christmas
If you are fairly new to following along at So Sew Easy, then you might have missed this project from some time back so I thought you’d like to see what I’ve been sewing. I’ve been busily sewing away these teeny tiny zipper pouches for stocking stuffers and for handy gifts for hubby to give to some of his colleagues. They work in the sun all day, in and out of the water working as diving instructors and these little pouches are ideal. They can hang them off their bag and have easy access to their lip balm, sun block and lunch money while keeping the rest of the stuff in their bag dry.
Copper Plating and Etching Altoids Tins
UPDATE: There's some great information on this page and it's comments, but I've recently published a far more comprehensive article here: Etching Tins with Salt Water and Electricity With this project I wanted to try a number of new things: Magazine pages as cheap toner transfer mediaCopper electroplatingEtching Altoid tins with a salt water solution The copper plating met with mixed success, but the other two methods resulted in some nice pieces. Note: blue vitriol and muriatic acid are archaic names for copper sulfate and hydrochloric acid. Magazine pages for toner transfer:

{No Sew} Felt Bows
These felt bows are so easy to make and turn out very cute. There are also so many different ways that you can use them, and they cost just a few cents to make. All you need is felt, a hot glue gun, and scissors. I was inspired by these beautiful felt bows from {Every}Nothing Wonderful. Also check out how she uses old tights or hose to make headbands.
Alice's Soda Can Bookmarks
What does Wonderland's Alice have to do with Christmas? Absolutely nothing. Except that the same procedure with which I made her 'Drink me' bookmark I employed to make a more Christmas-y version. (PDFs of each design included.)
Knitty Gritty Thoughts: Happy Thanksgiving and Free Fabric Styrofoam Ball Pattern!
Supplies are easy, most of them you'll probably already have around the house. You'll need - Fabric - your choice of colors and prints. The amount you need depends on the size of the styrofoam balls you use and how thick you place the fabric. My mileage is between 1/4-1/2 yard per ball. I recommend starting with a 1/2 yard and see how much you have left and go from there.Rotary cutter mat, cutter and rulerSilver flathead pinsThimbleStyrofoam/Polystyrene Balls your choice of sizes (I used 2 and 3.25 inches)
Make a scrying mirror.
Now here's a very odd but simple project that doesn't involve electronics at all, but has a very delicious element of darkness to it in more ways than one. It's a scrying mirror. Basically a black mirror used to focus (or defocus) the mind to perceive images often perceived as spiritual. Have you ever laid in a dark room and gradually seen random images like people or portals into other places? Not everyone has this experience and it may be linked to forms of autism where the dream world leaks into waking vision.

Applique inverse: un tutoriel
This is a really fun, simple project. Yet another way to fancy up some plain tees or a great fix for old shirts with holes. It takes a little practice to master sewing a curved design like this one. I'm definitely not there yet but, I was pretty impressed with myself this time around.
