Maxistentialism “Werewolf is a simple game for a large group of people (seven or more.) It requires no equipment besides some bits of paper; you can play it just sitting in a circle. I’d call it a party game, except that it’s a game of accusations, lying, bluffing, second-guessing, assassination, and mob hysteria.” – Andrew Plotkin, creator of Werewolf Werewolf is based on the game Mafia, which was created in 1986 by Dimitry Davidoff, a psychology student in the USSR. Most reports credit Dimitry Davidoff with creating Mafia in 1986 as a teaching tool. Mafia become Werewolf after author Andrew Plotkin became fascinated with it at the 1997 National Puzzlers’ League convention. It’s the quintessential game that makes use of hidden information that is gradually revealed. The rules are simple. The game cycles between day and night. Werewolf works best with seven to twenty players and one moderator. You’ll want to make some cards to assign players their roles. For most games, you’ll want your deck to have:

How can yours avoid being filed under Recycling without a second glance? Approached purely as a piece of persuasive writing, drafting the perfect cover letter can drive good people mad with stress and self-doubt. Kipnews | Knowledge is power Help to prevent the barbaric ritual “trichane” (dog spinning) from taking place again Dog spinning or “trichane na kuche” is a ritual celebrated in Brodilovo, a rural Bulgarian village, and is supposed to prevent rabies and keep away the bad spirits of springtime. All information, pictures and video here: During this ritual, a rope is wrapped around a dog and the animal is suspended above a body of water, such as a river. Nothing is supposed to happen to the dogs used in the ritual, but photos from previous dog spinning days show the faces of terrified animals as they hang helplessly above a river or stream with a crowd of people cheering from the shore. The practice was stopped in 2005 when the media outside of Bulgaria found out about the ritual and reported it to the world. But the mayor of Brodilovo, a rural Bulgarian village, had renewed the ancient ritual in 2011.

Scholar finds Mayans' buried highway through hell By Mark Stevenson | ap.google.com Mexican archaeologist Guillermo de Anda is aided by two young archeologists as he prepares to dive into an underground lake inside a cenote cave in Tzibichen on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2008. Archeologists using long-forgotten testimony from the Inquisition trials of Indian heretics in the 1500's have discovered caves in which ancient Mayas built chambers, altars and underground roads that appear to represent the path that departed spirits had to travel after death. Legend says the afterlife for ancient Mayas was a terrifying obstacle course in which the dead had to traverse rivers of blood, and chambers full of sharp knives, bats and jaguars. Now a Mexican archaeologist using long-forgotten testimony from the Spanish Inquisition says a series of caves he has explored may be the place where the Maya actually tried to depict this highway through hell. The cenotes De Anda found were drier, better hidden and farther from villages.

It’s manifested in different ways. So, this Cult of Happy article just set me off. It’s bad enough without people ramming Happy Tips at you through facebook. My 21 Tips on Keeping Your Shit Together During Depression 1) Know that you’re not alone. 2) Understand that the Happy People are usually acting out of some genuine (albeit misguided) concern for you, that it’s coming from a good place, even if the advice feels like you’re being blamed for your disease. 3) Enlist the help of a professional. 11) Cry.
