Every Man Should Know: The Wonderful World of Whiskey

Every Man Should Know: The Wonderful World of Whiskey
Mark Twain once said, “too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.” It’s been brought to my attention that a lot of guys out there aren’t aware of what whiskey (or as I like to call it, “writer’s blood”) actually is. This entry will serve to educate those men out there who, for some reason, just can’t put down that warm can of Coors Light. First off, tons of manly men drink whiskey. Let’s keep it simple. All whisky’s (Yeah. The drink must also endure a vigorous aging process. Diving even deeper into Scotch, you’re provided with the option of either single malt or blended Scotches. Recommended Brands: Johnnie Walker, Glenmorangie, Highland Park Irish Whiskey is a bit like scotch in that it has to be made with an ABV of less than 94.8% and aged for at least three years in wooden casks, although the type of wood doesn’t matter with Irish whiskey. I thought now might be a good time to post a follow up, including what I have personally found to work. Let me first start by saying that waking up early has made a huge difference in my life. I used to be the complete opposite – late sleeper and late riser. What I like most about being an early riser is getting that extra quiet time in the mornings to work at a few next actions even before the day officially begins. Here is a list of things that worked for me: 1. I’ve found this to be the single most important element in being an early riser. 2. It wasn’t enough to just be an early riser. 3. Your body is trying to tell you something if you constantly feel overly tired during the day. 4. One simple thing which helped me get enough sleep was to … well … go to bed earlier. 5. The other thing I noticed about sleep is sleeping longer doesn’t necessarily translate to sleeping better. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11.

Shiny Mud Balls | Science and Education Kyoto Professor Taps into the Essence of Play October 5, 2001 At elementary schools, kindergartens, and preschools all across Japan, kids are losing themselves making hikaru dorodango, or balls of mud that shine. Behind this boom is Professor Fumio Kayo of the Kyoto University of Education. Kayo is a psychologist who researches children's play, and he first came across these glistening dorodango at a nursery school in Kyoto two years ago. He was impressed and devised a method of making dorodango that could be followed even by children. Once Kayo teaches children how to make these mud balls, they become absorbed in forming a sphere, and they put all their energy into polishing the ball until it sparkles. Professor Develops Method Inside his office at the university, Kayo keeps a dorodango in a wooden box, wrapped in cloth. Kayo first became interested in dorodango in May 1999. Why would a lump of mud shine? How to Make Shiny Dorodango

(via) How to Build a Powerful Home Theater PC for Less Than $500 A few years ago, I built an enormous home theater PC that cost about $1200. Because it's on most of the time, it runs too hot, and the fans trying to cool it down are loud, which makes the whole thing sound like a jet engine. My new HTPC, built around Nvidia ION graphics, is outperforming my old PC and has been shrunk down to the size of a cigar box. With some new features such as an internal Blu-ray player and a noiseless heatsink (instead of a loud fan) to absorb and dissipate heat, it streams HD multimedia without flickering or stuttering and it cost less than $500 dollars (and could cost as little as $300). If you don't want to build your own computer, start with either a bare-bones (preassembled) PC like the ASRock ION 330. But if you're a real DIYer, start with separate components, tailoring the PC however you want. Heres a shopping list: case, motherboard, RAM, wireless remote, Windows OS and a hard drive. The process begins with the motherboard and case. Snap in some RAM.
