5 U.S. theme parks under $50 With Disney parks recently raising their ticket prices to $89 for a single–park one day ticket—Universal Studios is just as bad—now is the perfect time to start thinking about smaller, regional theme parks where you can get your adrenaline fix for less. Here are five theme parks around the country where the daily price of adult admission is under $50. Luna Park, Coney Island, N.Y. The best deal on the list, Luna Park's prices correspond with the number of credits each game or ride is worth, so how much you spend to enjoy the park really depends on which rides you choose to go on. US Map / USA Map / United States Map - Maps and Information about the United States Early Beginnings America's initial Stone Age inhabitants arrived here by traversing the Bering Strait. During the following centuries, a wide variety of Indian cultures developed and prospered across the land. After Columbus made his initial voyage to this New World, word of its potential riches spread across Europe, and colonizers and settlers by the thousands soon stepped ashore along the Atlantic Ocean coastline. In 1620, the Pilgrims arrived on the Mayflower, landing in what is modern-day Massachusetts; their settlement named Plymouth survived, and the story of a new nation was subsequently born. Declaration of Independence One century later Britain's upstart colonies broke from England and declared their new-found independence during the Revolutionary War. The new country of America expanded rapidly, well beyond the reach of the original 13 colonies, and inevitable conflicts and wars over lands rightfully claimed by indigenous peoples was the result. Hidden cruise deals: how to nab flash sales | Compass (Photo: Holland America Line) While researching a recent story on summer’s best Alaska cruise bargains, I was dumbfounded to discover jaw-dropping $299 rates for a last-minute 7-night Princess Cruises sailing to Alaska — one of the best-value fares I’ve stumbled upon during my many years of travel deal-hunting. The only problem? Intrigued, we decided to dig deeper on these fare discrepancies and uncovered a world of hidden cruise deals and short-lived “flash” sales. Karen Candy, media relations manager for Princess, revealed that the $299 Alaska fares were likely showing up regionally, since the cruise line sometimes has limited flash sales that are targeted to specific markets. Across the cruise industry, these flash fares are offered primarily to offload excess inventory. (Photo: blmiers2 / Flickr) Of course, these aren’t deals that are going to show up in a Google search or be blatantly advertised; turning them up requires a little finagling.
