Easy Crochet Owl Tutorial
Hello Lovelies, Wooo Hooo , or should that be To-Whit to Wooo Hooo :0) It's a Happy Happy tutorial day! I simply LOVE these cute fellas and as you can see I've got rather carried away making them in lots of different colours. They are very easy to make and so jolly . I've seen a few similar cute crochet owls out there in blogland and on Etsy but they looked quite complicated to me. So for my version I've tried to keep things as simple as possible. If you are proficient at crochet you will be able to make one of these sweet little owls in no time at all. This item is designed for decorative use and is not suitable for use as a toy for a small child. The pattern is written in my usual format.....U.S. terms. Here is a list of the abbreviations used and a handy conversion guide for U.K. terms.......... sc= single crochet................................U.K. double crochet hdc = half double crochet..................U.K. half treble crochet To begin chain 4 Work 13 dc into ring and here's the back.

Crochet Bunny Nibble nibble, hop hop Posted on Updated on If you are a regular follower you will immediately notice that these bunnies are very closely related to some particularly cute owls made recently. Crochet Cat Id like to introduce you to the newest addition to our family, Caity Cat… She’s a pretty little cat who loves to hang out in the garden… hiding amongst the flowers. Caity Cat Tutorial To make Caity Cat you will need: A small amount of coloured yarn and a corresponding hook. Caity was made using DK (8ply) yarn and a 3.5mm hook. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Eyes: Sc 5 times and join to form a ring. Because Caity loves flowers she is decorated with crochet flowers- and there is even one on her tail!!! Small crochet flowers: Chain 4 and join to form a ring. Large crochet flower (for the end of Caity’s tail): Chain 4 and join to form a ring. Thats it all done! And the back view… Caity loves to get outside… …with her special friend Maia. Last I saw they were playing a game of hide and seek in the flowers, with Caity’s cousins Kitty Cat and Carrow the Sparrow… Hope you are having a fun weekend! Crochet Owl Hat Pattern in Newborn-Adult Sizes By popular demand, I am happy to present the crochet pattern for larger owl hats! But first, lets go over a couple of frequently asked questions. Q: What is a Magic Ring? A: I like to start all my hats with a magic ring. The magic ring can take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it really is a great way to start crocheting in rounds. HERE is wonderful explanation on how to make a magic ring by my friend Kara from Petals to Picots. Q: Where do I start my rounds? A: Always start your round in the same stitch as your chain 2. I will let this picture do the explaining. Q: Where do I join my rounds? A: Always join to first DC, NOT your chain 2. Now for the long awaited patterns! Supplies: • Vanna’s Choice® Lion Brand medium worsted weight yarn (I use Barley and an accent color such as pink, green, purple, turquoise) • Crochet hook size H-8 (5.0 mm) • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends • Two 3/4″ black button for eyes Abbreviations: Gauge: 4″ across = 14 double crochet stitches

Amigurumi: Guide To Reading Japanese Patterns Just thought I'd make a guide on reading Japanese amigurumi patterns to complement this awesome guide, which I've seen linked a couple of times, since it isn't amigurumi-specific and hence didn't include some of the stitches commonly used to make amis. I am of the (very biased!) view that Japanese amis are some of the awesomest things ever, so I think it would be wonderful if others could learn how to read these patterns too. :) Do keep in mind that while I've only been working from these patterns, I'm still kind of new to this, so for those who have experience with these patterns (and in Japanese), if I've missed out something or got something wrong somewhere, please feel free to correct me! *This guide uses US stitch-terminology. INTRODUCTIONJapanese ami patterns usually look like this: You may also see a stitch-counting guide at the side of the pattern, which shows how many stitches you should have in each row. That's pretty much it, I think.
