Hagrid (part giant) shows up to deliver a letter to Harry in person and it tells him he is a wizard. Soon, it's time to go to school and Harry has some complications, like how do you get on Platform 9 ¾ if it doesn't exist? Harry and Ron, they're best friends; seem to get into a lot of trouble. "That's BARBARIC!" "That's Wizard's Chess!" Making my Harry Potter chess set First off, apologies for the ENORMOUS pics, I'm posting this from my phone and cant shrink them down!I was lucky enough to get a set of great "Isle is Lewis" chess men for Christmas, just like the set that Harry and Ron play with in the Philosopher's (Scorcerer's) Stone. But the thing I was missing was a suitable chessboard. So I spent a while in photoshop, drawing up the fleu-de-lys borders around the squares, and then printed them out of a laser printer onto suitable paper. I then used some gold laser transfer foil over the printed ink, then ran it through a laminator to seal the foil to the ink. Once all the squares and borders were ready, I cut out a 20 x 20 inch square of 18mm ply, then drew up the grid and started gluing on the paper parts. The only thing left to do is to find some suitable moulded beading to gold leaf and fix to the edges.
Harry Potter props - mostly original stuff, actually! (WARNING! LOT OF PICS!) Ok... I've been missing for some time, well, I was basically been caught with real-life, still searching a job, or something like thatBut in the meantime, since I was already a big fan of Harry Potter, I did some props, I started for fun, making a wand for my girlfriend, then one for me, and then, some small potions and stuff for Halloween...Well, in a couple of years, I've sold a lot of this stuff, I went also to some small trade fair, dressed as a not-so-Muggle guy... I have a Facebook page as well, but it's almost only in Italian (but if you ask me something in English I will answer anyway! ) Here it is: Ramiel's Magic EmporiumBut I forgot to post all of this here, where probably I could have had some serious feedback, so, to apologize I'm posting this little summary of my experience and a crapload of pics that should give you a little idea of what I've been doing in these years of silence! It's good to be back!
My Harry Potter replica collection Sorry, didn't mean it that way. I've been working 18hrs a day for 4 weeks straight and just decided to have a little fun. But no, I wasn't trying to one-up you. It was just meant as an inside joke about the prop replicas that Universal is offering at the parks. Obviously I'm a little too punch-drunk to be very funny, so I'll let you in on it. I made most of the key props for the Wizarding World and we had discussions about taking molds from my work and offering them as high-end props to park goers.
Harry Potter Riddle Blank Diary Indy Magnoli said:I'll go ahead and pick one up to check out that accuracy. Maybe I can use the corner pieces as a base to make a higher-quality version. Thanks, IndyI finally got my NC Tom Riddle diary and have to say it's Slightly Under eXpectations. This is a picture of the back. Diary1.bmp Looking at images of the actual prop, the leather seems to be realitively smooth, not the bumpy recycled football leather that this was made of. The name is hot stamped to a piece of leather which was then glued to the back of the diary. The Winstanley's logo was omitted in favor of this:Diary2.bmpI will admit that the corners are nice.

Time-Turner "I mark the hours, every one, Nor have I yet outrun the Sun. My use and value, unto you, Are gauged by what you have to do." —Inscription on Hermione Granger's Time-Turner[1] A Time-Turner is a special timepiece in which an Hour-Reversal Charm has been encased, for added stability. It is a device used for time travel, and it resembles an hourglass on a necklace. The number of times one turns the hourglass corresponds to the number of hours one travels back in time (although, it should be noted that the longest period that may be relived without the possibility of serious harm to the traveller or to time itself is around five hours). History —Hermione's workload due to her Time-Turner[src] Hermione Granger received one from Professor McGonagall in 1993, so that she could attend more classes in her third year than time would allow. Nature Time-related magic is unstable, and serious breaches in the laws of time result in catastrophic events. Behind the scenes Appearances Notes and references
Slytherin "Or perhaps in Slytherin,You'll make your real friends,Those cunning folk use any means,To achieve their ends." —The Sorting Hat[src] Traits and values Personality "You could be great, you know, and Slytherin will help you on the way to greatness, no doubt about that." —The Sorting Hat to Harry Potter[src] Slytherins tend to be ambitious, shrewd, cunning, strong leaders, and achievement-oriented. According to Albus Dumbledore, the qualities which Salazar valued in the students he chose included cleverness, resourcefulness, determination, and "a certain disregard for the rules." Blood purity "I always knew Salazar Slytherin was a twisted old loony, but I never knew he started all this pure-blood stuff. —Ron Weasley expressing his claims about Slytherin's views. The Sorting Hat claims that blood purity, is a factor in selecting Slytherins. Reputation Common room The Slytherin common room is found in the dungeons of Hogwarts Castle, and is located underneath the Black Lake. Head of House
