Hair Tutorial: Get Curly Hair Using an Old Pillowcase If there's one thing I've gathered from my girlfriends when it comes to hair, it's that you always want what you don't have. This rule of thumb also generally applies to boob size too, but that's a post for another day. Being one who falls squarely in the category of naturally wavy hair (in the ugly, frizzy way), I've always lusted after big, bouncy, bodacious curls. Funnily enough, my husband also lusts after big, bouncy and bodacious, but we're not talking about curls (wokka wokka). Since I was little I've been obsessed with curls. I even managed to somehow talk my mom into taking me to get a perm when I was in elementary school, and whenever we had one of those biography projects where you dress up like a famous person and speak in famous-person-first person to your class, I always picked Shirley Temple just so my mom had no excuse not to put my hair in ringlets using this pillowcase method. ONE profile Head Scarf Tutorial After many requests, I finally made a tutorial on how to tie a simple head scarf. It's really, really easy. I did this without looking in the mirror, so that should tell you how easy it is. Let's get started! Start with a large, square scarf. Fold one corner to the other to form a triangle. Fold the corner down to about the middle, and then fold over again (but not all the way to the edge, because you want it to be a little thicker). Put the scarf around your head with the ends in the front, making sure the wrong side of the scarf (the part where you can see the folds) is against your head. Tie it in a loose knot at the front. Tuck the ends behind/underneath the scarf. Done!
Fantastic Easy Hairstyle for the DIY Bride/Bridesmaid {Sunday Beauty School} I know I talked hair last week BUT I just have to share this with you! Being a straight and rather flat haired girl myself, I have tried every which way to bring a little bit of curl into my life with limited success. I’ve bought heated round brushes, velcro rollers, curling tongs in various shapes and sizes, those foam bendy things, rags (Victorian chic don’t you know) and heated rollers. But none have given me the curls I crave and most of them have damaged my hair. But, the other day, I was indulging in a little pinning on Pinterest. Here is a before and after shot of a girl who tried it out and was so pleased with the results she blogged about it. And click here for the original YouTube Tutorial by Maria from ‘The Lipstick Diaries’. I’m not sure I’d describe these curls as Vintage, they seem more boho to me but nevertheless I just love them & will no doubt be sporting them in the very near future! Enjoy: And here’s my results >> Apologies for looking so sleepy!
