Commissions Commissions __________________________________________________ Over the years I've worked for many of the UK's leading advertising agencies and design groups -- and for others in Europe and the USA -- creating origami models to their specifications. Almost always, these models have been photographed for use in newspaper or magazine advertisements, magazine articles, annual reports, brochures and the like. Occasionally though, I have made models for TV commercials, motion pictures, trade exhibitions and as premiums (gifts). Blaschka Invertebrate Models Life and Works of the Blasckhas Before Jacques Cousteau and the aqualung, before Kodachrome and underwater photography - there were the Blaschkas, father and son glassworkers who produced some of the most extraordinary glass objects that have ever been made. Their work has been described as "an artistic marvel in the field of science and a scientific marvel in the field of art." Artifacts inevitably reflect the cultural values leading to their creation. Leopold Blaschka solved a problem that challenged the curators of these new natural history museums-the display of marine invertebrates. Although the father and son team of Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka were not the only makers of natural history educational models in the 19th century, they were the only ones creating glass models.
Ikonen: History's Classic Images, Re-Created in the Studio - Photographs by Jojakim Cortis And Adrian Sonderegger In 2012, Swiss-based artists Jojakim Cortis and Adrian Sonderegger presented themselves with a challenge: to recreate some of the world's most iconic images in their studio. In a bit of self-deprecating irony, they decided to start with the world's most expensive photograph (at the time), Andreas Gursky's Rhein II. After all, the money wasn't coming in for their own work, but at least they could have some fun. The positive feedback they received after the first image was enough: with this initial success, they decided to deepen the series. On the faithful side, Cortis and Sonderegger are unparalleled. At the same time, the two are eager to highlight their own artifice, to rebel against the canon. By next year, the two intend to publish a book with all of their reproductions. Ultimately, their aim is not to mislead the viewer but to fully expose the process of creation. —LensCulture

Les formes de base pour débuter en dessin - MaxRoyo.com Nous avons vu dans la leçon « Des lignes.. » à quel point les lignes influencent l’impression que donne un dessin. Elles sont aussi à l’origine de l’interprétation des formes ! Commençons ! Il suffit d’une recherche sur google pour trouver de multiples symboliques des formes, mais on ne nous dit jamais pourquoi ??? On peut trouver une explication dans la nature : on se blesse sur les objets pointus, le rond avec des galets adoucis par l’eau, ou le carré, solide pour les murs et bâtisses. L’influence de la gravité et la manière dont le regard réagit sur ces formes est aussi une explication de leur symbolisme : Le triangle évoque le danger puisque le regard se heurte à des changements de directions brutaux. L’horizontale en bas du triangle évoque une base stable et les diagonales portent le regard vers le haut. Ce n’est pas pour rien que les pyramides ont cette forme. Le regard glisse sur le cercle puisque la courbe accueille en douceur le regard. De même que la gravité : Et pourtant si ! Google+
