Six Steps to Meditation This meditation lasts 15 to 20 minutes. It is a meditation of SIX steps. Each step will take roughly two and half to about three minutes. I will first explain to you all the steps and then you can start. The FIRST is the step of rhythmic breathing. The SECOND is the step of detached observation. Then we come to the THIRD step. Then we come to the FOURTH step. The FIFTH is meditation on your immortality. And now we come to the FINAL, the last, the SIXTH step. And now if you are ready, we shall begin with the meditation. The FIRST step, the step of rhythmic breathing. Now we come to the SECOND step; it is the step of detached observation. We move to the THIRD step. We now come to the FOURTH step: It is the step of realizing the oneness with all that is; all human beings, all creatures, all birds, all animals, fish and foul, insects, even mosquitoes, all trees and shrubs and plants. And now we come to the FIFTH step. By GOD’S grace, our period of silence is over.
Dans le même esprit : Popup by Marion Bataille Read These Seven Books, and You’ll be a Better Writer Donald Miller I used to play golf but I wasn’t very good. I rented a DVD, though, that taught me a better way to swing, and after watching it a few times and spending an hour or so practicing, I knocked ten strokes off my game. • The War of Art by Steven Pressfield: This book is aimed at writers, but it’s also applicable to anybody who does creative work. Pressfield leaves out all the mushy romantic talk about the writing life, talk I don’t find helpful. • On Writing Well by William Zinsser: Zinsser may be the best practical writing coach out there. • Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott: Before becoming a literary superstar, Anne Lamott taught writing, and Bird by Bird is the best of her advice, broken up into chapters. Save the Cat by Blake Snyder: Snyder’s book is specifically for screenwriters, and yet I recommend the book for writers of any kind, and teachers and preachers as well. Plot and Structure by James Scott Bell: On Writing, by Stephen King: Zen in the Art of Writing by Ray Bradbury:
Men.
Phonics The goal of phonics is to enable beginning readers to decode new written words by sounding them out, or in phonics terms, blending the sound-spelling patterns. Since it focuses on the spoken and written units within words, phonics is a sublexical approach and, as a result, is often contrasted with whole language, a word-level-up philosophy for teaching reading (see History and controversy below). Another sublexical approach is "pronunciation guide"—printing a word's phonetic transcription (or respelling) directly above that word, as a pronunciation guide to help the student pronounce the word. Reading education for languages with complex orthography such as Chinese uses the pronunciation-guide approach (see Pinyin), and an implementation for English reading education is now available called Phonetically Intuitive English. Since the turn of the 20th century phonics has been widely used in primary education and in teaching literacy throughout the English-speaking world. Lexical reading

Controlling a PC, Straight from an iPad Splashtop Remote is an iPad app that pairs with a free Windows application to display your PC screen on your iPad If you’ve got an iPad kicking around your home or office, and you own a Windows laptop or desktop machine, you’ve probably already experienced the frustration of not being able to do something on the iPad that’s easy on the PC. Watching a non-YouTube video, playing a game that’s not on the iPad, editing Microsoft Office documents – wouldn’t it be great if you could run your PC from your iPad whenever you hit an Apple roadblock? You can, for $6.99. Splashtop Remote is an iPad app that pairs with a free Windows application to display your PC screen on your iPad, provided both are on the same wireless network. All you need to do is buy the Splashtop Remote app from Apple’s iTunes Store, and download the small 10-megabyte Splashtop Remote application for your PC. I’ve been using Splashtop Remote to play my PC’s iTunes music and video collection.
The Mouse Is Dead. I Just Killed It. Now Can We Move On? This morning when I wrote a post about Apple’s new Magic Trackpad, I knew it would be a little controversial. After all, I basically said that it was the beginning of the end of the mouse — a device that everyone reading the post probably still uses for a good chunk of their computing on a daily basis. But I didn’t expect what I said to be that controversial. I mean come on, it’s a mouse. Let me be clear: I’m not saying trackpads and other multi-touch surfaces are going to replace the mouse overnight. It’s a harbinger, if you will. I believe that we’re going to start seeing more devices like this (and obviously, not just from Apple) which focus on touch as a way of interacting with desktop machines. That’s exactly what Apple spoke to today with the unveiling of this new peripheral. And that’s not even including devices like the iPad and yes, the iPhone, which are also computers. The mouse is a desktop device. I went the other way. Right now, people may be saying they want the mouse.
