The Wheel of Emotion | The Journey: One man's travels In my book Creative Visualization For Dummies I introduce a useful visual device I call a Wheel of Emotion, which I think you will find helpful in any personal improvement program. It has a similar name to another design, the Wheel of Emotions, by Robert Plutchik so, because he thought of his wheel (or, more precisely, cone) first, let’s take a look at that first: Plutchik’s Wheel of Emotions With this diagram Plutchik demonstrates a selection of major human emotions, how they are related to each other, and how they are different too (or bipolar as he calls the emotions at opposite sides). At the center of this wheel there are eight basic emotions (as he refers to them) such as ecstacy and grief. Anyway, I was pleased that someone had (so I was on the right track), but particularly happy that Plutchik’s wheel wasn’t represented in the same way as the diagram I had been envisioning. My Wheel of Emotion Both wheels have 32 emotions, many of which are the same. Reading the inner circle
The Ten Best Horror Movies You Haven't Seen | - StumbleUpon October means Halloween, and Halloween means horror, and horror? Well that means some damn good movies. I presume many of you are searching for a good horror flick to curl up with this month, and while I will advise you to first consult my 10 Best Horror Films of Decade list, I thought I’d compile a new one made up of films that aren’t quite as widely known. Here are some new titles that some of you may have seen, but I predict most of you will have not. 10. If you’re not in love with Amber Heard yet, watch Drive Angry, Zombieland or better yet, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. It’s a fairly straightforward slasher film, but with a few clever twists thrown in, it stands out over similar films. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. Bonus: Tucker and Dale vs.
Free Classic AudioBooks. Digital narration for the 21st Century Indoor Rain Room Where Visitors Don't Get Wet This interactive artwork by Random International allows visitors to experience the rain whenever they feel like it. Based in London, Random International studio creates all kinds of installations that explore behavior and interaction, often using light and movement as the foundation for their artworks. The Rain Room, an exhibition supported by the Arts Council England and made possible by the generous support of the Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation for Art, is located at the Curve in the Barbican Centre in London. It's a free installation that runs from October 4 until March 3, 2013. In the exhibit, a 100 square meter grate hangs overhead in the center of the room, from which a continuously falling rain shower streams. Visitors can experience the pitter patter sound of raindrops hitting the ground and the moisture in the air without actually getting wet. Random International website via [The Telegraph]
