Barbie Doll Size Differences
There are two main types of Barbie dolls. I'm not saying there aren't more types than that, even, but these are the kinds I am addressing. As you can see from the pictures there are some major differences in the shapes of the two types. The newer one has narrower shoulders, smaller chest/bust, larger waist, wider hips, and larger hands; the natural waist is also a bit higher. Before you begin a project, you should make sure that the pattern you have works for the doll you have. Here are rough measurements comparing the differences between the two doll types. Note: while these differences may seem very small (as little as 1/4" or 1/8"), this can make seriously effect whether or not something will fit when you're working on this scale.

Froufy Barbie Skirt Tutorial
I hope you’ve had as much fun with Barbie® week as I have! Here’s one more fun skirt tutorial! Enjoy But please pardon the name of the skirt. Click below for more! You’ll need: 1 piece of fabric 12″x3.5″ (for the length shown here) 1 piece of fabric 1.25″x5″ for the waistband sew on velcro sewing stuff cut your pieces out-I’m not sure how my skirt piece ended up crooked-whatevs! Serge or zig zag stitch two short sides, and one long side of your skirt piece. On the other side of your skirt piece, sew a basting stitch down the edge, and gather to fit the waistband. Important! andd…sew together! press the waistband, folding a little bit over like so. fold that down over the front of your skirt-and pin. topstitch slowly along the bottom of the waistband. pin right sides together, and sew a seam about an inch from the bottom down… this is what it should look like. fold over one of the edges slightly, sew down, and then sew on your velcro pieces. and tada!
Barbie Knit Top Tutorial
Hello all! Here’s the grand finale of Barbie® week! (Also, I made a couple of dresses and added them to my Etsy store! Clicky over on the top right)***I made a couple of Liberty dresses too, those will be listed later! Please don’t be intimidated by the knit fabric in this shirt-or the small seams. Click below for more! You’ll need: a piece of knit fabric-the thicker knits work better- I wouldn’t use a thin knit unless you are comfortable with swearing. sew on velcro ball point needle pattern Cut out your pattern-this is what it will look like all laid out. If you want to embellish your top-now’s the time! I sewed on a little fabric flower I had floating around. We’ll start on the neckline. this is what it should look like-I suggest ironing all your seams throughout-it makes it look so much better when you’re done! You also don’t need to worry about seams fraying since it’s knit. yah! Now for the sleeves. Now pin the right sides together like so… and then down the side. sew about a 1/4″ seam. tada!

I had this little piece of silver fabric and I thought it would make a perfect wrap over cardigan for Holidays (or any other occasion). It is very easy to sew and should take you only a few minutes.
