DIY Paper Gardenia
It seems that every time I create a new paper flower template it becomes my new favorite. Well my dears, it has happened again. This paper gardenia is simply gorgeous and just in time for Mother’s Day. Even if you don’t have time to make a full bouquet, just one on top of a wrapped gift will add that “gift-on-top-of-gift” that I love to do when I do my own gift wrapping. These gardenias would also make a perfect Mother’s Day corsage to pin onto her (or your) top or tie at the wrist. For this flower I printed a simple line template onto one of my favorite paper types, a metallic, iridescent, frosty paper, that gives such a beautiful dimension when curled and sculpted.

DIY ABSTRACT ART FOR PHOTO LOVERS | Promise Tangeman
I love getting back to my painting roots. I first fell in love with art (drawing and painting) before I ever started into Graphic Design. In fact, in College I double majored in Graphic Design and Fine Art. So painting has always been really close to my heart. And I love it when I get the time to create new work. I absolutely love the simple yet dynamic effect of this art piece. I went rummaging through a magazine looking for black and white photos. pssst… If you want to use your photography I would print the photos out in black and white on regular paper using a laser printer. If you are using a previously painted canvas you need to re-paint it white. I am using Liquitex Gloss Heavy Gel to “glue” the triangles to the canvas. After I attached the 4 triangles, I started to fill in other triangles with a color field. Be sure to paint the edges of your canvas for good craftsmanship. ALL DONE!!
