Filthy India Photos, Chinese Netizen Reactions Note from Fauna: The following post and collection of photographs spread on the Chinese internet in 2008. On Tianya, Mop, LiuLiu (and many other Chinese forums): Reflections in the midst of extreme poverty and filth — a record of a trip in India India is the dirtiest country I have ever been to. In two months in India, I went from south to north, visiting some tourist towns that I had read about. A holy ground covered with feces! Tourists have been coming for years to the small town of Bodhgaya , the place where 2500 years ago Buddha achieved enlightenment, bringing their foreign money to the pockets of a few hotels and tourism operators, but still they live in abject poverty. Cow dung is the most environmentally friendly fuel source India is very dry, and vegetation scarce. You often see see women collecting fresh manure, packing it together with hay using both hands, then carefully sticking it against a wall to dry. I am filthy, but I am brilliant. World's Largest Cave Explored in Vietnam: with trees in it? : 2012 The biggest known cave in the world is hidden in a jungle in Vietnam, but a team of cavers with the help of a local farmer are exploring its depths. Wind gusts tip the cave hunters off to the location of the Hang Son Doong’s cavernous maw. Howard and Deb Limbert, a husband and wife caving team, began exploring the cave in 2009 and soon found places where the roof formed skylights allowing parts of the jungle to move in and call the cave home. Darryl Granger of Purdue University and part of the team exploring the cave in 2010 says it would be possible to fly a plane through parts of the cave -- though he likely won’t try it. Measuring so far nearly 3,500 meters (11,482 feet) long, reaching in one spot as high as 200 meters (656 feet) and stretching normally 80 meters (262 feet) wide, Hang Son Doong would easily fit a city strip, and could even fit Philadelphia’s City Hall. ... 10121.html amazing Upload to Disclose.tv
Documentary Heaven | Watch Free Documentaries Online Banksy ETHOS | Documentary Heaven | Watch Free Documentaries Online Ethos, a powerful new documentary hosted by Woody Harrelson, is an investigation into the flaws in our systems, and the mechanisms that work against democracy, our environment and the the common good. With a stunning depth of research and breadth of analysis, this film delves deep into the inter-connected worlds of Politics, Multi-National Corporations and the Media. Most of us have wondered at some point how we have arrived at a situation where democracy is touted as having created an equal society when all we see is injustice and corruption. Politicians openly deceive the public with the support of major corporations and the mainstream media. But what is the source of these institutional mechanisms which – when we scratch the surface – are so clearly anti-democratic, so contradictory to the values we hold in common and yet so firmly embedded that they seem beyond discussion?
