Scientists Induced Lucid Dreaming With An Electrical Current
screenshot/Inception NEW YORK (Reuters) - Nighttime dreams in which you show up at work naked, encounter an ax-wielding psychopath or experience other tribulations may become a thing of the past thanks to a discovery reported on Sunday. Applying electrical current to the brain, according to a study published online in Nature Neuroscience, induces "lucid dreaming," in which the dreamer is aware that he is dreaming and can often gain control of the ongoing plot. The findings are the first to show that inducing brain waves of a specific frequency produces lucid dreaming. For the study, scientists led by psychologist Ursula Voss of J.W. Those brain-waves are related to executive functions such as higher-order thinking, as well as awareness of one's mental state. Voss and her colleagues therefore asked, if gamma waves occur naturally during lucid dreaming, what would happen if they induced a current with the same frequency as gamma waves in dreaming brains?

You will learn how to memorize numbers, cards, names and words and discover the fascinating world of Memory Sports. The Method of Loci This technique is as old as ancient democracy: The method of loci, used by Greek and Roman senators to hold their intoxicating speeches in front of the senate. It was proscribed to use any kind of notes, so they were using this brilliant technique to jack up their memory. To remember a speech, they broke it into peaces and created symbols for every single part. Cicero (De oratore, ii. 86) tells the story of the end of Simonides relations with the Scopadae. Quote: Wikipedia What Simonides did is easy to reproduce, since remembering a route from A to B in its detail has once been part of the survival strategy of mankind. The Power of the Elephant Path

How to Study Less by Learning Things Once
You read over your notes. Then you read them over again. Then you read them over a third time. A lot of study time is wasted because of one problem: you fail to learn things the first time around. Repeatedly going over the same information like putting a band-aid over a sieve. The key to reducing the amount of time you study is simple: learn things the first time you see them, instead of after dozens of repetitions. This is all easier said than done. Step One: Find the Holes If you want to repair a leaky brain, you need to figure out where the holes are. What from this section am I most likely to forget? When you identify weak points, you can invest more time in fixing those instead of wasting time with a blanket studying technique of all information. Step Two: Repair Weak Points Once you’ve identified potential weak-points, you should immediately seek to fix them. Memorizing? Repairing weak points in your understanding isn’t that difficult – if you first know where they are.
Cycle routes and maps Roscoff to Santander
On previous cycling trips we had used 3” / mile maps which proved great. We only carry the narrow strips of map required for the journey.
