Introduction to Essential Oils I’ve gotten quite a few questions about what essential oils are and what they’re used for. After responding to numerous emails, I thought it would be helpful to share this information with everyone! What are essential oils? Essential oils are highly concentrated liquids distilled from plants, flowers, or trees. As with many products, essential oils are made in different grades, or levels of quality. Synthetic oils or fragrance oils are the lowest quality and are typically used in lotions or perfumes. Because they are so concentrated, you only need a few drops to be effective. How do you use them? Essential oils are my first line of defense. And a single essential oil can be used in a variety of ways, which saves you money instead of buying multiple products. For example: I don’t need to buy “Baby Bedtime Bath” for Little Peanut–I just add a bit of lavender oil to her bath water. A few reminders: Treat essential oils with respect. or fractionated coconut oil. Would you like to know more?

Test Of Three In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was widely lauded for his wisdom. One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance, who ran up to him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about one of your students?" "Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me, I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Test of Three." "Test of Three?" "That's correct," Socrates continued. "No," the man replied, "actually I just heard about it." "All right," said Socrates. "No, on the contrary..." "So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him even though you're not certain it's true?" The man shrugged, a little embarrassed. Socrates continued, "You may still pass though because there is a third test - the filter of Usefulness. "No, not really..." "Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?" The man was defeated and ashamed and said no more.
Go On A Blind Date... With A Book They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover — but what about the title, author and plot? In a bid to lure customers back from the ebook market, one plucky book store has begun selling novels that are completely wrapped in brown paper. A few vague words are your only hint to what lies within… It’s no secret that book stores are doing it tough, with Collins, Angus & Robinson and Borders all shutting up shops in recent years. “A lot of people who come into our store don’t know what they want to buy so they just browse or ask for a recommendation,” explained Ryan, an Elizabeth’s Bookshop employee from the Pitt Street store in Sydney. “One of our staff members thought it would be a good idea to set up a kind of lucky-dip table where you get to pick a book at random. All ‘blind date’ book covers are completely covered in brown paper — with just a few vague word cues scrawled on the front to give you an idea about the book’s content. Would you buy a book completely unseen?

Moon Sand Recipe (with play sand) Growing Celery Indoors: Never Buy Celery Again | 17 Apart: Growing Celery Indoors: Never Buy Celery Again Remember when we tested and shared how to grow onions indefinitely last week? Well, at the same time, we've been testing out another little indoor gardening project first gleaned from Pinterest that we're excited to share the successes of today — regrowing celery from it's base. We've figured out how to literally re-grow organic celery from the base of the bunch we bought from the store a couple weeks ago. This project is almost as simple as the onion growing project — simply chop the celery stalks from the base of the celery you bought from the store and use as you normally would. Instead of tossing the base, rinse it off and place it in a small saucer or bowl of warm water on or near a sunny windowsill — base side down and cut stalks facing upright. We let our celery base hang out in the saucer of water for right around one week, give or take. We watered it generously and after planting in the soil, the overall growth really took off. Don Harper Mills: 1994's Most Bizarre Suicide This story can be found in many places on the Web, usually without attribution, and claims that it is true. But the story of its origin, and how to spot it must be an UL, can be found at Deconstructing Ronald Opus At the 1994 annual awards dinner given by the American Association for Forensic Sciences, AAFS President Don Harper Mills astounded his audience in San Diego with the legal complications of a bizarre death. Here is the story... On March 23 the medical examiner viewed the body of Ronald Opus and concluded that he died from a gunshot wound of the head caused by a shotgun. Ordinarily a person who starts into motion the events with a suicide intent ultimately commits suicide even though the mechanism might be not what he intended. Further investigation led to the discovery that the room on the 9th floor from whence the shotgun blast emanated was occupied by an elderly man and his wife. The medical examiner closed the case as a suicide.
