DIY Valentine's Day Decorations
Ok, I admit it. I don't want to take down my Christmas decorations. I know the holiday is over, I know it's time to move on.

My favorite retailer sends me many catalogs and sale mailers. I must say, I always get excited when a Crate and Barrel catalog arrives. I get a lot of inspiration from looking through them and the quality of the paper is great for decoupaging, especially the CB2 catalog! I made this AWESOME re-arranged typography wall art with two junk mail postcard sale mailers.
Small Space Gardening Ideas
On a warm summer morning, what’s better than waking up and stepping right outside onto your patio, barefoot, with no plans other than to explore the gorgeous, overgrown, garden in your backyard, stopping to admire the newly budding flowers and taking in the most exquisite scents your nostrils have ever experienced? Except that most people I know don’t own such a garden. Because our backyards are the size of our bathrooms. Don’t fret, though, because there are a ton of ways to get around it! Here are some great small space gardening ideas:
Miniature Greenhouse
Follow I have always wanted a greenhouse of my own. Until that day comes, this miniature greenhouse is keeping me pretty happy. I finally found a good use for all these old thimbles.
Felt Ball Garland for Christmas
I meant to make a felt ball garland last Christmas but it seems lots of other folks had the same idea, because by the time I got around to ordering my supplies, they were super back-ordered so they ended up coming after Christmas. Which is perfect because I often buy things for Holidays and don't get around to making them until the next year anyway. So here it is next year... and since I already had all the supplies, I've made it! And though I haven't actually started decorating yet (though I have picked up a few festive things from Ikea already), I thought I'd share it in case you'd like to make one too, you'll have time to do it this year! Making a garland is easy as pie (can you thread a needle?).
DIY Air Plant Terrario + A Giveaway (closed)
My dad gardens more than anyone I know. He is always outside planting new things, repotting, rearranging and watering. Growing up, my yard was basically a jungle. Unfortunately, I did not inherit a green thumb from him. I’m VERY bad with plants, but I finally found a type that I haven’t killed (well not yet, at least)!

DIY Stamped Silverware Garden Markers « My so called crafty life
This DIY is really fun to make, and if you have a relative or friend with a workshop and plethora of tools to help you, it’s a breeze. Stamp your silverware to mark your herbs, veggies, or even stamp your names as a fun idea for garden art. Please note: I used a propane torch when making mine which you need to have a steady hand and use extreme caution as these burn super hot, and can really cause bad burns if you aren’t careful.

Food Jar Terrariums
Science in a jar is something that scores me some serious cool points in the scientist in training universe. That’s especially true when it means that we can head out for a walk around our local park – or even the backyard – with express permission to pick up, handle, pack away and take home anything cool and natural found along the way. I woke up the other morning to a countertop full of empty food jars with lids – which completely stumped me since it seems practically impossible to amass such a collection without realizing it. Luckily, I got to my e-mail and found the daily dose of Design Sponge before running off to the return center because there it was – my cool points for at least a week. The tiny person just about lost her mind when she saw some awesome food jar terrariums up on the screen.
Pretty Paper Garland
I've been wanting to play with some paper garland for a little while now. The design I had in my mind was much more delicate than what my sewing machine could handle, so I ended up hand-stringing these .5 inch white flowers. The result was really pretty - light and airy.
