La Khan Academy en français Quest University Canada The Sounds of Interstellar Space The Sounds of Interstellar Space Nov. 1, 2013: Scifi movies are sometimes criticized when explosions in the void make noise. As the old saying goes, “in space, no one can hear you scream.” Without air there is no sound. But if that’s true, what was space physicist Don Gurnett talking about when he stated at a NASA press conference in Sept. 2013 that he had heard "the sounds of interstellar space?" It turns out that space can make music … if you know how to listen. Gurnett is the James Van Allen professor of physics at the University of Iowa and the principal investigator for the Plasma Wave Science instrument on Voyager 1. The heliosphere is a vast bubble of magnetism that surrounds the sun and planets. For decades, researchers have been on the edge of their seats, waiting for the Voyager probes to leave. Gurnett recalls the thrill of discovery when some months-old data from the Plasma Wave Instrument reached his desk in the summer of 2013. Credits: Author: Dr. More information:

The LinkedIn “Hack” Throughout my series of blogs, as well as all of the other great ones featured on this site, you have been learning powerful ways to create your brand and position yourself for success. That, of course, helps you to know what message to get in front of a hiring manager or other persons of influence. Equally important, though, is determining precisely who the hiring manager (or other persons of influence) is that you need to get that information in front of. Your LinkedIn connections Most everyone knows the tremendous power of LinkedIn. You need CONNECTIONS; and In order to see most of those connections (beyond your first degree), you need a PAID account. Mooctivity | MOOC Search Engine and Social Network Greek vs Hebrew Education What we now consider “The Church” is almost nothing like the Early New Testament Church. Think of an archeologist digging through layers to find out what life was like in ancient times. Historians concur that the Greeks were destroyed by moral decay. Pursuing knowledge without God is a recipe for disaster. We simply cannot survive without clear moral direction. To understand the Early Church we must dig through layers of a mountain of man’s influences shoveling off and discarding man’s traditions, theories, interpretations, and philosophies from Greek and Roman civilizations, Aristotle, Constantine, Marcion, etc., to be able to examine the Early Church. During the Reformation, men such as Wycliffe and Calvin were digging in the right spot. Greek philosophy between Aristotle and Augustine is the foundation of Western thought (Aristotle tried to merge the Bible and Plato = Hellenistic Philosophy). Blog We’ve been working hard over the past four months trying to reimagine Codecademy and we couldn’t be happier to finally unveil it to the world. We have redefined every component under our brand, from a single button on our dashboard to our email template, business cards, slides and even apparel. We had been discussing a design refresh for a while, but somehow it always ended up being pushed to the side. Finally, in October last year, after completing a user segmentation project that brought to live the main user archetypes of Codecademy.com, it quickly became apparent that if we wanted to grow and mature as a brand, we required a thorough redesign of our entire product. Why a redesign? Reason #1 – Start fresh First, there was the obvious problem of design incoherence and variation. A random sampling of pages within our old web ecosystem, showcasing some visual design inconsistency. Reason #2 – Brand matureness Our new look Phase 1 Various early directions for our new logo. Our new color palette.
