This page gathers all of the Bloomin' Apps projects in one place.Each image has clickable hotspots and includes suggestions for iPad, Android, Google and online tools and applications to support each of the levels of Bloom's Revised Taxonomy.I have created a page to allow you to share your favorite online tool, iOS, or Android app with others. Cogs of the Cognitive Processes I began to think about the triangular shape of Bloom's Taxonomy and realized I thought of it a bit differently.Since the cognitive processes are meant to be used when necessary, and any learner goes in and out of the each level as they acquire new content and turn it into knowledge, I created a different type of image that showcased my thoughts about Bloom's more meaningfully.Here is my visual which showcases the interlocking nature of the cognitive processes or, simply, the "Cogs of the Cognitive Processes".

Evaluating Apps with Transformative Use of the iPad in Mind
The app development market is exploding. More and more companies are creating “educational apps”. In some cases, they are simply digital versions of a book or a web based tool. Some seem to have “no educational value” to it at all, but are still sold under the label of “education”. Although, I usually don’t resort to borderline cuss words, I really liked the expression of “crapware”, Sarah Perez over at TechCrunch used when she was reviewing a new app for the Pre-School/Kindergarten crowd. That being said, TinyTap is still a lot better than much of the kids’ apps crapware out there in the iTunes App Store.

I’ve been using my iPad a lot recently, in preparation for my new, hands-on iPads: Perform, Create, Learn professional development course and have been running a number of apps through their paces. The amount of apps available really is overwhelming and the challenge is to separate the ones with substance and educational value from the novelty apps. Personally, I think the best apps have one or more of the following qualities: they’re more than a “one hit wonder”you can use them in multiple waysyou can import content you’ve created elsewhereyou can export your creation in order to edit it further on your desktop computer Once you find a few good apps, the possibilities for classroom integration are almost endless. Five Webby Award winners to watch
The winners of the 2012 Webby Awards were announced on Tuesday, Established in 1996, the Webby Awards are arguably the Internet's best-known honors. After starting small, the Webbys now hand out more than 100 awards each year. Many of each year's honorees tend to be celebrities, big companies or well-known online entities. Among this year's big winners are Pinterest (best social media app), photo-sharing app Instagram (breakout of the year), and the comedian Louis C.K., honored by the Webbys for creating "a new precedent for distribution" by releasing his comedy special through his own website.
