Alphabet | Digitprop – Papercraft and Stuff A papercraft alphabet – 26 fine templates to print out, fold and glue into letters. Each one represents a thing (or animal, or people) starting with that letter. This alphabet can be a nice and playful learning resource for kids – the younger ones will need some help in assembling the models. In addition to being nice little toys (my son has instantly fallen in love with the letter A – or astronaut), you can write all kinds of nice messages with them, such as ‘I love you’ or ‘Please pay the rent ASAP’… Works in English as well as in German (and, at least to some extend, probably in some other languages as well). Here are the first three letters: A as in Astronaut, B as in Beaver, and C as in Chameleon: Here is a tutorial on how to make the letters. Here is a PDF file containing all letters. And here are the individual letters, complete with downloadable PDF template: A is for Astronaut So, here it is – the first letter of the papercraft alphabet.

We really liked the pouf from Christien Meinderstsma, but it´s way out of our price range. This simple pattern for a knitted stool has much thinner yarn, but the budget is just as thin;) Nice to rest your legs on, and very popular for the kids. What we used:Eskimo, 18 balls (Or yarn suitable for US #13 needles)Acrylic yarn would probably be a really good alternative, as it´s a piece of furnitureUS #19 circular needles2 cheap duves (feather and down) How we did it:Cast on 35 stitches using three threads.Knit the garter stitch until you´ve knitted all the balls, and there is just enough yarn left to asseble the stool. You now have ONE rectangular piece.Cast off loosely. Assemble the first long side. Stuff the duves into the stool. Assemble the other end in the same manner as the first. And there you go! This is a free stool knitting pattern from pickles.no.

HOW TO: Look sharp for the summer Have you noticed that when it comes to paper folding, we mean serious business? See below. Yes, that is a bowtie made entirely out of paper! Also, just because summer is coming, it doesn't mean that you can't look totally dapper. Check out how it's made! Want to try it out yourself? I can't promise that this DIY is super easy.

vintage book travel-tech organizer As you may have figured out from my My Life Scoop posts, I’m a bit of a nut for tech accessories, especially pocket-sized ones. I can’t get over how awesomely small our entertainment devices are becoming; it makes traveling with them so much easier. But one issue I keep running into is how to neatly organize everything, especially the power cords and connector cables that accompany my favorite devices. Rather than spend another plane trip rummaging through my catch-all carry-on bag searching for my headphones, bumping my head on the seat in front of me every time, I decided to make a small tech-accessory organizer using elastic ribbon and an old vintage book cover. Have a DIY project you’d like to share? Read the full how-to after the jump! Materials Instructions 1. 2. 3. 4. Boxed geometric heart I really liked the 3D hearts in the gift-wrap I showed previously so I’ve been making paper versions! They make a nice alternative to a card. You can even make one every color of the rainbow. There is a little box which you can make to put the hearts in (each box fits two hearts). Templates for the box and the hearts are at the foot of the post. It’s a fairly straight forward cut, score, fold, glue project. They look great in neon but I’ve found the neon colours really hard to photograph. + 3D paper heart template + Box for 3D paper heart Cassette Tape MP3 Player I've been trying for some time to come up with a mod for the cassette tape. Initially I thought it would be cool if I could stick a voice recorder into one of those tiny cassette tapes that used to be used in message machines (trying to ironic!) but it was way too small. Then I hit upon using one as an MP3 player. The only changes you'll have to do is a bit of trimming to the cassette tape with a dremmel, a little bit of soldering and some design work and your done. So in the name of irony, I present to you this Cassette Tape MP3 Player. Enjoy.

Make your own custom notepads Jo and I have recently discovered a special type of glue that you can use to make your own notepads. It’s called padding compound and it’s a simple adhesive that you apply to a stack of paper to turn it into a notepad. We have had endless fun making custom, personalized notepads and doing various fun projects with it, and are still coming up with new ideas for more. It’s so easy to use, too! Here are the basic instructions: Take a stack of paper — any color, type, or size you want — and tap it on the table so that one side is as flat as it can be. (You can also add a sheet of plain white paper on the top and bottom of the stack if you want to protect the notepad from glue drips, as we’ve done here.) Now take a small brush and apply the padding compound liberally along the edge of the pad. And just like that, you’ve made your own custom notepad! If you’re as intrigued by this stuff as I was when I first found out about it, you’ll want to know where to get it!
