No Stress, No Fuss Christmas Pageant & Worship Part I « Still Waters 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. (Luke 2.16) Every year around this time, congregations struggle to find a fresh way to retell the familiar story of the birth of baby Jesus. Luke 2.16 always seemed to cause the most stress for me because every year, I always managed to lose baby Jesus. The Sunday before Christmas, we have an annual Christmas pageant. This is when I discovered the no stress, no fuss Christmas pageant. Note: At the beginning of each part within the script, children and adults are invited to come forward to the chancel to assume the character they want to be. Welcome: Introduce the pageant and give instructions to the congregation. Narrator: Welcome everyone to Bethlehem! Part I: Mary and Joseph Those who wish to portray Mary and Joseph are invited forward. As the Marys and Josephs come forward, the congregation sings “Mary Had a Baby.” Mary and Joseph, a pitiful sight. So tired and dirty, they gave me a fright.
E-Therapy and Online Psychology at ALLPSYCH Online Guide to Online Psychology The assessment of human abilities dates back nearly 4000 years when China used written tests to rate applicants for civil service. Utilizing our knowledge of human behavior to improve lives is probably even older. Most people feel that therapy began with the teachings and discoveries of Sigmund Freud.

Brain Pickings Flow (psychology) Concentrating on a task is one aspect of flow. In positive psychology, flow, also known colloquially as being in the zone, is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. In essence, flow is characterized by complete absorption in what one does, and a resulting loss in one's sense of space and time. Flow shares many characteristics with hyperfocus. Just as with the conditions listed above, these conditions can be independent of one another. Ideas similar to flow have been recognized throughout history and across cultures. Flow theory postulates three conditions that have to be met to achieve a flow state: Schaffer (2013) proposed 7 flow conditions: Young child, painting a model If the operator is receiving data at too slow a rate, he is likely to become bored and attend to other irrelevant data. Flow may occur in challenging sports such as eventing.
Area, Perimeter, and Fractions Idea I just found this really cute idea using area, perimeter and fractions all in one. Katie, Over at I Want To Be A Super Teacher posted about an activity she did with her class. I love the fraction idea of using 47/47 meaning 1 whole person. Sometimes they forget when the numerator and denominator are the same, it means 1 whole. Thanks Katie, for a great post!
