No powerleveling, no support from high-level pets, and none of the resources available to a veteran pet battler. The best thing I can compare it to is how leveling was during Vanilla WoW. You really aren't afforded any shortcuts the first time around. And I suppose that makes sense. If you remember leveling back then, there was a fairly clear progression one would follow, moving from zone to zone in order to efficiently level up.
