The Map Room The Map Room is a blog that points to maps, map collections, map-related resources, and material about maps on the web. Anything that fits under that rubric, from medieval mappæ mundi to satellite imagery, and from topo maps to Tolkien, is fair game. Launched in March 2003, The Map Room is aimed at a broad audience. While cartographers and people in the geospatial industry seem to enjoy reading it, it’s meant to be accessible to anyone with nothing more than an interest in maps. Need more information? Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush" (also titled "Mulberry Bush" or "This is the Way") is an English language nursery rhyme and singing game. It has a Roud Folk Song Index number of 7882. Lyrics[edit] The most common modern version of the rhyme is: Here we go round the mulberry bush, The mulberry bush, The mulberry bush. Here we go round the mulberry bush, The mulberry bush, The mulberry bush. Origins and meaning[edit] Halliwell said subsequent verses included: 'This is the way we wash our clothes', 'This is the way we dry our clothes', 'This is the way we mend our shoes', 'This is the way the gentlemen walk' and 'This is the way the ladies walk'.[1] The song and associated game is traditional, and has parallels in Scandinavia and in the Netherlands (the bush is a juniper in Scandinavia). Local historian R. The Christmas carol, 'As I Sat on a Sunny Bank', collected by Cecil Sharp in Worcestershire, has a very similar melody; as does the related "I Saw Three Ships." Game and song[edit]

Wind Map An invisible, ancient source of energy surrounds us—energy that powered the first explorations of the world, and that may be a key to the future. This map shows you the delicate tracery of wind flowing over the US. The wind map is a personal art project, not associated with any company. We've done our best to make this as accurate as possible, but can't make any guarantees about the correctness of the data or our software. Please do not use the map or its data to fly a plane, sail a boat, or fight wildfires :-) If the map is missing or seems slow, we recommend the latest Chrome browser. Rumsey Historical Map Collection Gregoire to DEA: Make marijuana a legal drug Originally published November 30, 2011 at 6:30 PM | Page modified December 1, 2011 at 9:51 AM A decades-long effort by marijuana activists to allow cannabis to be prescribed and sold in pharmacies gained allies in governors' mansions for the first time Wednesday. Gov. The petition, citing hundreds of peer-reviewed research articles, adds political heft and urgency for the federal government to resolve what Gregoire called "chaos and conflict" among 16 states with laws recognizing medicinal use of marijuana and a federal law that does not. "In the year 2011, why can't medical cannabis be prescribed by a physician and filled at the drugstore just like any other medication? The petition comes as America's attitudes toward marijuana are softening, but the Obama administration is cracking down on medical-marijuana dispensaries — in Washington and other states — at an unprecedented level. Colorado Gov. "I have every expectation you'll see other governors join us," Gregoire said.
